PU BUS TRACKER
The PU BUS TRACKER is a platform, the idea for which was
conceived by the Free Software User Group of Pondicherry
University(FSUGPU) to crowd source location of buses
operated inside the Pondicherry University, Kalapet campus
using the GPS sensor available with smart phone used by
majority of users i.e. students of the University. The platform is
being developed as Open Source complying to the policies of
FSUGPU and is being developed by the members of FSUGPU.
The platform architecture:

Client Module (Smart Phone App) : Currently being
developed for Android, the app will use the GPS sensor
to obtain location of a bus and feed the data to a server.
User will also user the app to about en-route bus, report
complaints, etc.

Server Module : The server will host a database for
storing tracking information sent by Clients and send
back location assist information back to clients.
PROJECT STATUS:
Front-end development in progress. Tracking and OFFLINE
MAP functionality implemented using Open Street Map tiles
data and Leaflet.js library on Ionic Framework.

Python / PHP developer for developing server module.
