In-Process Material
Parts are identified by any of the following means: Shop Packet, Routings, Kanban Cards, or the part
number clearly marked on container or parts. Shop packets are maintained and issued by Production
Planning and Kanban cards are maintianed by Manufacturing Systems.
In assembly areas, part numbers identify components. Part numbers and/or part description identifies
subassemblies. Subassemblies can also be identified with additional product specific information for
example, model, gas type, and voltage and/or serial number. This can be identified on individual parts in
writing, tags or any other appropriate means.
Raw Material traceability is defined in the PED Material Traceability Procedure.
