BASIC FUNCTIONS
The Kiki Project Coordinator will implement a high-impact, comprehensive HIV prevention program
focused on Black individuals living with HIV/AIDS and high-risk negative individuals, with a focus on Black
Men who have Sex with Men (MSM) and their sexual partners regardless of race and ethnicity. The
Coordinator will facilitate the Kiki Project, a locally developed structural intervention incorporating
elements of evidence-based interventions including Popular Opinion Leader and Social Network
Strategies. The Project includes organizing and facilitating leadership orientation events, participant
recruitment, small group social/educational meetings and large group community townhalls.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND PRIORITIES
 Organize, market and facilitate all activities in the Kiki Project. Ensure the effective provision of
proposed workshops, presentations and events
 Conduct, coordinate and facilitate small group meetings addressing HIV related education,
information, prevention and care linkage activities in culturally appropriate locations or social
venues
 Help conduct, coordinate and facilitate leadership orientation meetings to recruit community
leaders and gatekeepers of the Black community to host regular small group social/educational
meetings
 Conduct, coordinate and facilitate large group community town-halls, forums and meetings focused
on HIV prevention
 Develop recruitment plans to identify and engage sufficient program participants
 Identify and establish working relationships with appropriate venues for intervention provision
 Recruit, schedule and manage appropriate hosts, speakers, presenters, facilitators, educators, and
panel members for all activities and events
 Collaborate with Program Manager and Customer Service Coordinator to ensure recruitment,
training, supervision, evaluation and recognition of volunteers necessary for activities, events and
outreach
 Facilitate interactive small groups, guiding group discussion and role-playing scenarios
 Deliver program intervention with fidelity to program model
 Conduct targeted outreach--both traditional and internet--to high-risk Black individuals,
including people living with HIV/AIDS and Men who have Sex with Men in Broward County.






Engage individuals in their own neighborhoods or venues where they typically congregate to
provide HIV related health information, education, referrals and linkage to services.
Develop close working relationships with internal team members and external agencies to ensure
coordinated, comprehensive client services and to avoid duplication
Adhere to strict procedures of confidentiality, release of information and data security
Provide HIV Counseling, Testing and Referrals as needed to at-risk populations in compliance with
strict standards of the Department of Health and The Pride Center
Maintain accurate and complete participant records, tracking contact, participation, outreach,
counseling, testing, and referrals performance as defined by evidence-based models,
local/state/federal entities and The Pride Center
Maintain accurate and current process, procedural, program and inventory logs of specific program
intervention and outreach activities, health materials, education materials, condoms and lube
Provide health education and support in conjunction with other Pride Center teams and community
members.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE/SKILLS
 Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Education, Healthcare or related field
 Proven experience and advanced skills in small group facilitation
 Seasoned experience in HIV/AIDS prevention, outreach and health promotion. Experience working
with PLWHA and communities of color.
 Proven ability to motivate, encourage and develop others
 Certification in HIV/AIDS 500 and 501 Prevention Counseling, Testing and Referral preferred. Rapid
Testing Training preferred.
 Knowledge of specialized services for people with HIV/AIDS; substance abuse; domestic violence
 Computer skills using Microsoft software applications (e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, social
media apps).
 Excellent written and verbal communication skills
 Organizational abilities and critical thinking skills. Logic and analytical ability.
 Ability to work hands-on with limited resources, independently or in a team setting.
 Some nights and weekends required
