Marking Requirements:
The appropriate citrus fruit, as the case may be: Provided that if the contents are
visible from the outside, this expression does not have to be indicated on the
container.
The appropriate cultivar.
The expression "Extra Class", "Class 1", "Cat 1", "Category 1", "Class I", "Cat I",
"Category I", "Class 2", "Cat 2", "Category 2", "Class II" or "Cat II" or Category II" and "
For Processing Purposes Only".
The country of origin.
The size reference (excluding fruit for processing) for a specific type of citrus fruits
preceded by the expression "Size code", "Size", "Size reference" or any other suitable
term having a similar meaning: Provided that:
the lower and upper size reference shall be indicated if mixed sizes of fruit are
packed in bulk containers; and
such a size reference shall be preceded by the expression "Diameter Range" or any
other suitable term having a similar meaning.
The number of fruit in each container (count) in the case of citrus fruit that are
packed according to a specific count: Provided that such a count reference shall be
preceded by the expression "Count".
The name and physical or postal address of the producer, exporter or owner of the
container.

General
Physical:
Properties:
Whole fruit in good condition with no bruising.
Free from pest or insect damage taints and smells, chemical sprays or
Residues and soil/dirt.
Free from altenaria and limonin.
Should contain no crystallised or dry cells - Granulation
The size must be uniformed.
Fruits should be free from wraps and stickers of any kind.
Non progressive defects are acceptable.
Post Harvest:
Fruit must be correctly stored and treated after harvest to promote
their integrity.
Treatment:
Fruits should be washed, rinsed and treated with UK permitted waximpregnated anti-fungicide.

Packaging:
Fruit should be packed into suitable strong bulk bins.
Material options are wood, cardboard or plastic.
Each unit must be marked in accordance with EEC Regulations
minimum net weight, category and size. Bulk bins should be stacked 2
or 3 high and secured so that they can be moved safely.
Pesticide:
All pesticide residues must comply with the current legislation
governing maximum residue limits (MRL).
Residues:
Only chemicals approved officially by European Union/United Kingdom
as pesticides may be used in the proper manner on fruit supplied to
receiver. Non EU countries need to comply with the necessary codex
specifications.
Regulations:
Fruit must meet all relevant UK and EEC regulations at the time of
delivery to destination.

Cleaning
Clean and Disinfect Packhouse and all Surfaces on a Daily Basis.
Products to use for Sanitation: ALL QUATS Sterimist, Sterilan, Sporekil, Desogerme,
Prasin, Terminater, etc.
Use Supersolve on wax brussels, rollers, beld, sizer and floors to clean. Dilute 1:10. After
cleaning rinse and disinfect with Sanicide 20ml / 20L water. Spray on all surfaces.
Flume
With the Baccaneer chlorinators sustain free chlorine levels at 50-75ppm.
