Pneumatic & Hydraulic Chuck Options
Chuck Facts
 Pneumatic chucks are available with various jaw styles, jaw mounting
configurations, jaw materials and number of jaws.
 Chucks on a Tsugami are generally limited to 3” and 4” models.
 Chucks are capable of both ID and OD clamping.
 Chuck Jaw strokes vary from .025” to .250” (per jaw). As the jaw stroke
increases; so does the length of the chuck.
 Depending on the chuck used; modification to the tooling zone within the
machine may be required.
 As a general rule; pneumatic chucks are not thru-hole chucks. The
work/clamping area is external to the chuck body.
 Jaw weight and required RPM directly affect clamping force.
 Hydraulic chucks offer a greater clamping force than pneumatic chucks.
 Chucks are available with thru-coolant, air blast and spring or pneumatic part ejection.
