With the growing utilization of net-enabled applications and
stored data, the THREATS to our networks are growing both in
number and intensity. An important consideration for any secure
raceway or PDS system being installed is the inherent
VULNERABILITIES that the system will introduce into the network.
With an increasing threat level, secure networks cannot afford
to be installed inside of a raceway system that is plagued with
design and installation vulnerabilities. Previous commercial solutions
provided an aesthetic and re-enterable raceway solution, but the distributed locking mechanism created a major vulnerability to the
security of the network—especially against serruptitious attack where system compromise would be undetectable. Wiremold Secure
Solutions Raceway, Channel, and Enclosures are designed to reduce or eliminate these same system vulnerabilities. By incorporating
several design enhancements, Wiremold Secure Raceway greatly enhances the effectiveness of the Periodic Visual Inspection
to detect tampering or unauthorized access of the PDS system. After all, with the growing importance of our networks—and the
threats against them—a secure raceway system should be exactly that—SECURE.
Today’s facilities often employ more than one network and
need mechanical security to limit access and prevent inadvertent
cross-connection. The Uniprise Keyed LC products have special
molded features on the plug and molded keys in the adapter
to reduce the chance of unauthorized connections. Four plug adapter
combinations exist, identified by color, and in order for a connection
to be possible, the plug and adapter colors must match. If the colors
do not match, the keying features prevent the connector from
physically plugging into the adapter. Uniprise Keyed LC plugs will not
mate with standard LC adapters, only the matching,
same-color couplers.

The Wiremold Secure Raceway System is designed
specifically to provide the protection and assurance of
a hardened carrier Protective Distribution System (PDS)
(as defined in NSTISSI 7003) while also providing
unparalleled modularity and scalability for future moves,
adds, and changes. Since PDS systems are typically
employed to protect unencrypted National Security
Information, the security and protection of the network
has to be paramount—especially in light of the increasing
threat base. The Wiremold Secure Raceway has been

The SecureLock interlocking base and cover design provides a structural connection between the Wiremold Secure Raceway

Accessibility Without Compromising Security
Once installed, the Wiremold Secure Solutions Raceway is easily re-enterable through any of the end boxes
or access points (which are secured with a Sargent & Greenleaf Hardened Steel padlock.) Once the raceway system
is accessed, the covers can be slid open to facilitate easy move, adds, or changes; additional cable or network
installation; or expansion of the PDS raceway system. Most importantly, by avoiding the use of a distributed locking
mechanism, the Wiremold Secure Solutions Raceway provides easy re-entrability, scalability, and reconfigurability
WITHOUT sacrifing the security of the raceway or protection of the networks. In fact, Wiremold Secure Solutions
enhances the effectiveness of the Periodic Visual Inspection to detect tampering or unauthroized access by
incorporating several design enhancements:

Wiremold Secure Solutions 2x2 Channel
OptiMo® OFP Fiber Adapter Panels
OptiMo OFP series 6-pack adapter panels are used with our popular FC series
modular fiber cabinets, offering great flexibility in structured cabling design for SCIF
and high assurance networks. Available with LC, SC, ST, FC and MT-RJ adapters
for separation of classifications and feature options ideal for both singlemode and
multimode applications.
For many Protective Distribution System (PDS) deployments,
both aesthetics AND re-enterability or scalability is a key attribute.
However, for limited deployments or low-density areas where
re-enterability is not as critical, Wiremold Secure Solutions provides
the 2x2 channel solution—an epoxy-based, conduit solution that is
aesthetically-pleasing and more economical than a re-enterable raceway.
Wiremold Secure 2x2 Channel Fittings
Similar to the design and installation of standard EMT or rigid metallic conduit, the 2x2 Channel utilizes standard 45°, 90°,
and ‘T’ connectors to facilitate easy installation and routing in virtually and building or deployment scenario. The fittings
are attached to the 2x2 Channel by utilizing a high-strength epoxy that provides structural integrity and a means to detect
tampering and unauthorized access of the PDS system. The conduit system makes use of secure access points and pull
boxes—much like EMT—to facilitate cable installation and moves, adds, and changes.
In addition to being used as a complete PDS solution in and of itself, the 2x2 Secure Channel is also used to facilitate
workstation drop-offs from the Wiremold Secure Solutions Raceway (WSSR). Using the Secure Drop-Out Fitting, the 2x2
Channel can be routed from the WSSR to one or multiple workstations or access points. The Drop-Out Fitting also provides
for multiple levels of security by incorporating enhanced protection against overt and covert attacks—and enables the use
of DoD Security Seals if necessary.

Over the last few years, Wiremold has been manufacturing
secure enclosures for several OEM customers and has just began
to offer their products directly to customers. Wiremold Secure
Enclosures are manufactured from 16AWG Steel with welded
seams, no knock-outs, and no external hinges.
UTP cable that is capable of meeting the demanding requirements of 10 Gig
Ethernet (10GBASE-T) by reducing alien crosstalk, the dominant noise source
that affects 10GBASE-T performance. LANmark-10G meets the standard
requirements for Augmented Category 6 as defined in TIA/EIA-568-B.2-10.

hile Wiremold has designed the WSSR for secure applications, they have been manufacturing one of the most
extensive offering of cable pathway and management products for commercial applications since 1900. The next two
pages contains an overview of standard Wiremold products that are applicable for routing secure network cabling
inside of a SCIF or Controlled Access Area (CAA).
Berk-Tek’s Secure PDP Cable reduces the cost and complexity
of multiple-classification network deployment. The cable design
integrates separate classifications under a single plenum-rated
jacket, and can also be hardened with aluminum interlocking
armor. Each classification is isolated in separate sub-unit(s)
—each jacketed by uniquely colored, non-translucent,
plenum-rated coating.
Wiremold Uniduct One-Piece Latching Raceway:
The Uniduct Non-metallic Latching Raceway System is a one piece single
channel design, ideally suited to route and protect fiber optic, UTP, and and
other low-voltage (50V or less) cables in an easy to install and aesthetically
pleasing application. The 2800 and 2900 Fiber Optic (FO) fittings maintain
a 1 1/4” [32mm] bend radius and are the perfect solution for even the
most demanding cabling applications.
