The purpose of this revision is to clarify the serial number code and how it correlates to year and month of production. To comply with a UL request, in 1993 we added a month code to our serial number. We also implemented the use of a twenty-year serial number cycle however; this did not take affect until the year 2001. The standard Hoshizaki Serial number is a letter, 5 digits and a letter: C 1 XXXX A Month Jan = A Apr =D Jul = G Oct = K Feb = B May =E Aug = H Nov = L Note: The letter “I” is omitted Continuous number Auxiliary Code Manufacturing year by last number Note: “I” and “O” are omitted Started back at “A” in 2011 on a 20 year cycle. 1 = A or L 2 = B or M 3 = C or N 4 = D or P 5 = E or Q 6 = F or R 7 = G or S 8 = H or T 9 = J or U 0 = K or V Example: Serial Q10005L was produced in November of 2005 Serial T12501M was produced in December of 2008 Serial B25003A was produced in January of 2012 Mar = C Jun = F Sep = J Dec = M
