Special Service Vehicle for Sloulin Field International Airport
Vehicles are required to be equipped with standard factory equipment unless dealer installation
is permitted. Additionally, vehicles must comply with federal government regulations and
include, but not be limited to, the following bid requirements:
Airbags: Dual-stage frontal airbags for driver and front passenger. Side-impact airbags for
driver and front passenger.
Air Conditioning: Tri-zone climate control.
Alternator: 170 amp alternator designed for police vehicle operation.
Batteries: Heavy-duty 730 CCA battery, 730 CCA auxiliary battery with isolator
Body Side Molding: No body side molding.
Brakes: Power-assisted 4-wheel antilock disc brake system.
Color: Summit white exterior. Ebony interior. Trim to be color coordinated.
Cooling System: Maximum size, heavy-duty cooling system.
Cruise Control: Speed control with electronic set and resume speed.
Defroster/Heater: (a) Hot water, fresh-air type (largest size). (b) Factory installed electric rear
window defroster.
Differential: Heavy-duty rear locking differential. 3.08 axle ratio.
Engine: 5.3L EcoTec3 V8, with active fuel management. Required to meet the Michigan State
Police vehicle performance standards. NOTE: Vehicles failing to meet performance standards
must be modified as required at no cost to the City of Williston provided vehicle has been
serviced according to manufacturer’s instructions.
Engine Block Heater: Engine block heater.
Flasher System: Headlamp and tail lamp flasher system.
Floor Covering: Color keyed carpet.
Headlights: High and low beam halogen headlamps. Must have automatic headlamps.
Hood Latch Release: Interior hood latch release.
Instrumentation: 150 mph certified speedometer with odometer, trip odometer, and tachometer.
License Plate Bracket: Front license plate bracket as required by law in the state of North
Dakota.
Liftgate: Rear door liftgate system with liftglass.
Lights, Switches & Headliner: (a) Glove and rear cargo compartment lights, if available. (b)
Roof mounted dome light for front seat compartment. Operation to be independent of other
lights. (c) No interior light to be automatically illuminated by open doors.
Locks: (a) Power door locks (driver operated). Automatic locks deactivated. (b) Four keys
furnished with each car. Third and fourth key may be dealer supplied on original equipment
blank. An independent series of keys is required for each individual vehicle. (c) Rear door
handles required to be capable of being inoperative (acceptable to be inoperative by use of child
safety lock switch).
Mirrors: (a) Interior rearview mirror with day-night capability. (b) Two side exterior heated,
power-adjustable, manual folding mirrors including spotter mirror with interior remote control.
Park assist: Rear park assist
Radio: AM/FM stereo with CD player and digital clock.
Radio Noise Suppression: Radio noise suppression package to include any optional grounding
straps, if available. Vehicle shall not interfere with signals received or transmitted by the mobile
police radio system nor shall vehicle systems be affected by the operation of police radios.
Rear Camera: Rear vision backup camera
Running Boards:Standard assist steps.
Seat Assembly: (a) Front seats required to be bucket type with heavy duty cloth. 10-way power
driver’s seat. At least the driver’s seat to have heavy-duty construction designed for rugged use
and comfortable foam-padded seat cushion and backrest. (b) Delete center console between
seats, if available. (c) Second row seat with cloth upholstery. (d) Third row seat with cloth
upholstery. (e) Safety belts for all seating positions.
Skid Plate: Front skid plate, if available.
Spotlamp: No Spot lights
Steering: Power steering system designed for high speed pursuit driving.
Steering Column: Tilt type steering wheel with anti-slip surface and column shift lever.
Suspension System: Police-rated suspension system. (a) Heavy-duty front coil-over-shock with
stabilizer bar and independent torsion bar. (b) Heavy-duty rear multi-link with coil springs.
Tires: (a) Police pursuit tires, all-season P265/60R17 radials with black sidewalls. Speed rating
to meet or exceed vehicle performance capabilities. (b) Tire pressure monitoring system. (c)
Matching full size spare tire.
Tools: Wheel wrench and jack.
Tow Hooks: Front recovery hooks mounted to frame.
Transmission: Six speed fully automatic, heaviest duty available.
Transfer Case: Active, 2 speed electronic Autotrac with rotary controls, includes neutral
position for dinghy towing
Wheels & Covers: 17” heavy-duty steel construction, designed for police use, machine silver in
color.
Windows: (a) Side windows electrically powered with active controls for driver and front
passenger. Express-down feature for driver. (b) Master lock switch for all windows on driver’s
door. (C) All glass to be solar tinted with privacy tinting on back and side windows behind the
front seat compartment.
Windshield Wipers: Electric wipers with multiple speed intermittent feature. Wiper required on
rear lift-gate window.
Driver Assistance Package: Driver alert package will be added.
Remote Start: Remote start added.
