MAIN STATE The display shows current Beach, Tide direction, Tide date, approaching Tide time and after Beach name time out the approaching Tide height unit is displayed in Metres. Hold START to change the unit display from Metres to Feet. LOCKED STATE The buttons can be locked or unlocked to prevent accidental button presses. Hold MODE to turn the lock ON/OFF. The LOCK symbol will indicate when the lock has been set. ENGLISH FUTURE TIDE DATA Press RESET to scroll through the future approaching tide data for the LOCAL BEACH. Hold RESET to return to the present approaching Tide data. PAST TIDE DATA Press START to scroll through the past approaching tide data for the LOCAL BEACH. Hold RESET to return to the present approaching Tide data. SETTING STATE FOR TIDES Hold LIGHT to enter the SETTING STATE. ENGLISH SPOT X TIDE We have programmed over 295 preset beaches into the Gravity tide watch, unfortunately not all beaches in the world can be preset. So we have equipped our watch with a Spot X averaging tide function. To set your customized local beach you will need to find out the next local HIGH tide time (Tide time information can be easily found on the internet). SPOT X SPOT X is the last Local Country setting. Once selected press MODE to go to the next setting. SPOT X HIGH TIDE HOUR Press RESET to increment & START to decrement the hour setting. (Hold the buttons for 2 seconds to speed up the increment or decrement) Press MODE to go to the next setting. This will display for 5 seconds then resume chronograph count. The chronograph will count 99 laps, and will count up to 10 hours. TOGGLE ALARM ON/OFF Press START to toggle the Alarm ON or -- (OFF). When the Alarm is triggered, the chosen time zone and Alarm icon will blink and the ALARM melody will chime. NEXT ALARM Press RESET to scroll through the two daily Alarms. There are 2 x daily Alarms you can set for each time zone. 16. ENGLISH SETTING STATE FOR ALARMS Hold LIGHT to enter the SETTING STATE. One second after the depression of the button, the HOLD TO SET banner will display. HOUR Press RESET to increment & START to decrement the hour setting. Press MODE to go to the next setting. MINUTE Press RESET to increment & START to decrement the minute setting. Press MODE to go to the next setting. TIME ZONE DEPENDENCY Press RESET or START buttons to change the time zone dependency. Press MODE to go to the next setting. ALARM CHIME Press RESET or START to change the alarm chime. There are 3 x different alarm chimes to choose from. Exit the setting state by pressing LIGHT. ENGLISH 17 GLOBAL RULES Backlight • On time is 3 seconds • If backlight is already ON, any Key Depression will request another 3 seconds delay Function-Mode-State • Banner Time outs will be shown for 3 seconds, and can be cancelled anytime by a key operation. • Message/Function time outs will be shown for 3 seconds and may be cancelled by a key depression, unless otherwise specified. • At any setting state, a no key operation for 30 seconds will auto-exit to the main state display with changes saved. Key Operations • Button Hold duration is 3 seconds. • Fast Setting will be 8 steps per second. This only applies if the number of items is above 10. Tones and Melodies • Any key press will cancel any pop-up melody. • If a Confirmation Tone is available, it will only be sounded-off if the key tone setting is enabled. • Melodies that overlap in occurrence will be processed in a first come first served basis • A melody that is about to get processed cancels the one that is currently being executed. 18. ENGLISH RECOMMENDED USAGE WATER RESISTANCE: 20ATM / 200M / 660ft SUITABLE FOR ALL WATERSPORTS, INCLUDING DEEP SEA DIVING. 10ATM / 100M / 330ft SUITABLE FOR ALL WATERSPORTS (SURFING, SWIMMING, WAKEBOARDING, SNORKELLING ETC). 5ATM / 50M / 164ft SUITABLE FOR ALL ENTRY LEVEL WATERSPORTS (SURFACE SWIMMING). This watch has been tested by industry standards to an overpressure situation in a static laboratory environment. This means the watch was not influenced by frequent temperature changes, saltwater, sand or big wipeouts. Constant exposure to these situations can seriously effect the rubber seals which keep water out. It is recommended that every 24 month the rubber seals are replaced and fully tested by a Billabong watch technician. Please return to place of purchase or your closest Billabong retail outlet. IMPORTANT: It is not recommended to use this watch for navigational purposes. We have compiled the most current and accurate tide readings available at the time of manufacture. However, weather conditions, changes in the coastal environment and movements in the tectonic plates can affect the tidal changes/ranges. Therefore we can not guarantee that the information contained in this watch, nor accept responsibility or liability for variances to actual tide conditions. ENGLISH 19 CARE PROCEDURES • Only use your watch for suggested sports within your watches water resistance rating. • Do not operate buttons while your watch is fully submerged in water. • It is not recommended to wear your watch in a hot spa or sauna. • Avoid exposing your watch to extreme and sudden temperature changes which can be damaging to your watches water resistance. • Always rinse your watch thoroughly after it has been exposed to sand, saltwater & chlorine. • Do not use spray cleaners, thinners or other volatile agents to clean your watch. • Never try to open the case back of your watch, leave this to the professionals and have your watch serviced by a billabong watch technician. • If your watch has moisture appear inside the watch, have it serviced by a billabong watch technician. • Avoid dropping your watch and unnecessarily rough treatment. • Avoid exposing your watch to gasoline, cleaning solvents, aerosol sprays, paint and other volatile agents. The chemical reaction can destroy seals and cause damage to the case and finish of your watch. • Avoid magnetic fields as they may affect the time keeping of your watch. • To prevent discolouration do not wear coloured PU straps (excluding black) in chlorine. 20. ENGLISH INTERNATIONAL WARRANTY Your Billabong brand watch is warranted against defects in materials and workmanship by Billabong under the terms and conditions of this warranty for a certain period of time from the original date of purchase. (See your warranty card for length of warranty period) This warranty covers the following components: the watch movement, hands and dial. Should a covered component be defective in materials or workmanship during the warranty period under normal use, it will be repaired or the watch will be replaced (at the sole discretion of the Billabong warranty service centre) free of repair charges. ENGLISH 23 FAQ’s How do I change the tide height from Metres to Feet? While in the Tide function hold START to change the wave height measurement unit from either Metres (Metric) or Feet (Imperial). How do I check the future tides for my Local Beach? While in the Tide function press RESET to scroll through future approaching tide’s data for your LOCAL BEACH. Press START to scroll through past approaching tide’s data for your LOCAL BEACH. Hold RESET to return to the current time’s Tide data. How do I use the Lap Counter in the Chrono function? The chrono is a stopwatch which can be used for several different training purposes for many athletic sports. To use our chrono for surfing, the lap counter can be used as a Wave Counter. With most competition surfing only allowing 15 waves per heat, the Gravity can help you keep track of your progress. While in the Chrono function press START to initiate the stopwatch, press RESET as you catch each wave to increase the Lap Counter. (The lap counter can count up to 99 laps.) The counter will keep progress of the total amount of time which has elapsed. To stop the stopwatch press START again. To reset the lap count and total time hold RESET for 3 seconds. How do I use the Countdown Competition Timer? While in the Timer function hold the RESET button to reset the timer, then press the RESET button to scroll through the to the CUstom timer. Select CD-COMP and select the minutes required. An alarm will sound at the 5 minute mark and for every minute until zero where the expire alert will sound. 24.
