The unit reduces surges between the centre and outer conductor of coaxial cables to safe values. The KAZ 11 is directly connected to the coaxial cables leading to the units which need to be protected (e.g. antenna amplifiers, switching matrices, etc.). Block diagram Installation For the parabolic antennas with a diameter of 57, 75 or 90 cm, there are seldom installation problems thanks to their small dimensions. If the imaginary, uninterrupted line between the antenna and satellite is assured, a variety of mounting types is feasible. The simplest mounting for the 57 and 75 cm antenna is achieved via a wall mounting. Attention! Satellite systems must be grounded in conformity with the VDE regulations (observe EN 50083, part 1). A roof installation is as feasible... ...as the installation on the garage or terrace. Safety instructions regarding the mounting site for antennas Kathrein antennas are designed and produced according to the standard EN 50083, part 1. When selecting a mounting site, typical structural characteristics, such as susceptibility to oscillation, installation on the edge of the roof or building or on cylindrical structure, must reckon with a higher wind load according to DIN 1055, part 4/08.86 or DIN 4131. 5 Single receiving systems Low-band/high-band Analogue a. digital Single reception 1 subscriber 1 satellite 2 polarisations (H/V) Analogue and digital *) Low-band/high-band Terrestrial signals (WFS 23) Switching criteria: Vert./Horiz. 14/18 V Low-band/high-band 0/22 kHz Sat IF Low-band/high-band Analogue a. digital DiSEqCTM Multifeed reception 1 subscriber 2 satellites 2 polarisations (H/V) Analogue and digital *) Low-band/high-band Terrestrial signals (WFS 23) Sat IF Switching criteria: Vert./Horiz. 14/18 V Low-band/high-band 0/22 kHz Sat A/B DiSEqC™ Alternative: EXR 21 Low-band/high-band Analogue a. digital DiSEqCTM Multifeed reception 1 subscriber 3 satellites 2 polarisations (H/V) Analogue and digital *) Low-band/high-band Terrestrial signals (WFS 23) Switching criteria: Vert./Horiz. 14/18 V Low-band/high-band 0/22 kHz Sat A/B/C DiSEqC™ Sat IF Note: For multifeed reception, Kathrein recommends using a reflector with a diameter of 90 cm or larger. *) For reception of digital programmes, a DVB-S receiver is required. **) Voltage surge protector KAZ 11. 6 Optimal receiver setting: - 22 kHz High/Low On - DiSEqCTM - DiSEqCTM Repeat 1 - Tone burst, Off UFO® mini, UFO® micro Single receiving systems Low-band/high-band Analogue a. digital DiSEqCTM Multifeed reception 1 subscriber 4 satellites 2 polarisations (H/V) Analogue and digital *) Low-band/high-band Terrestrial signals (WFS 23) Switching criteria: Vert./Horiz. 14/18 V Low-band/high-band 0/22 kHz Sat A/B/C/D DiSEqC™ Optimal receiver setting: - 22 kHz High/Low - DiSEqCTM On 1 - DiSEqCTM Repeat - Tone Burst, Off UFO® mini, UFO® micro Sat IF Low-band/high-band Analogue a. digital 2 x switchable Twin operation /2 subscribers Twin feed system, switchable 1 satellite 2 polarisations (H/V) Analogue and digital *) Low-band/high-band Terrestrial signals (WFS 14) Switching criteria: Vert./Horiz. 14/18 V Low-band/high-band 0/22 kHz Sat IF Low-band/high-band Analogue a. digital TM DiSEqC Multifeed reception Twin operation/2 subscribers 2 satellites 2 polarisations (H/V) Analogue and digital *) Low-band/high-band Terrestrial signals (WFS 14) Switching criteria: Vert./Horiz. 14/18 V Low-band/high-band 0/22 kHz Sat A/B DiSEqC™ Sat IF Optimal receiver setting: - 22 kHz High/Low On - DiSEqCTM Off - DiSEqCTM Repeat - Tone burst, Off UFO® mini, UFO® micro Note: • Please observe the maximal power draw for twin receivers. • For multifeed reception, Kathrein recommends using a reflector with a diameter of 90 cm or larger. *) For reception of digital programmes, a DVB-S receiver is required. **) Voltage surge protector KAZ 11. 7 Single receiving systems Low-band/high-band Analogue a. digital DiSEqCTM Multifeed reception 2 subscribers 3 satellites 2 polarisations (H/V) Analogue and digital *) Low-band/high-band Terrestrial signals (WFS 14) Switching criteria: Vert./Horiz. 14/18 V Low-band/high-band 0/22 kHz Sat A/B/C DiSEqC™ Optimal receiver setting: - 22 kHz High/Low On - DiSEqCTM - DiSEqCTM Repeat 1 - Tone burst, Off UFO® mini, UFO® micro Sat IF List of components (for pages 6, 7 and 8) Price Price Offset parabolic antenna CAS ... _____________ ____ satellite receiver(s) UFD ... _____________ ____ feed systems UAS ... _____________ ____ terminating resistors EMK 03 _____________ Mast or wall support ZAS ... _____________ ____ voltage surge protector(s) KAZ 11 _____________ Injection diplexer WFS 14 _____________ Accessories _____________ Sat range diplexer WFS 23 _____________ Installation _____________ DiSEqC™ switching matrices EXR ... _____________ Subtotal _____________ ____ m coaxial cable(s) LCD ... _____________ VAT _____________ ____ antenna socket(s) ESD ... _____________ ____ connection cable(s) ETG ... _____________ Total price _____________ *) For reception of digital programmes, a DVB-S receiver is required. **) Voltage surge protector KAZ 11. 8 Community antenna systems (2 x Sat IF) Low-band or 4 subscribers 1 satellite 2 polarisations (H/V) Low-band Terrestrial signals Alternative: EXR 204 (without terrestrial) Switching criterion: Vert./horiz. 14/18 V Sat IF If necessary, connection of NCF 18 is possible.
