YOUR ONLINE RESOURCE
YC INTERACTIVE (YCi)
Business people are busy people and can’t be available every day to
support schools and students. YC Interactive solves this problem.
Based on the popular U-Xplore platform this helpful tool allows Young
Chamber students within a school to access videos of key business
people and employers. This allows them to investigate and obtain
valuable information on business processes, advice from
entrepreneurs and an understanding of company structures.
Students can access a network of employers to support their
learning.
Features
Allows students to independently develop their business awareness and log
their progress.
Can be used as a stand-alone resource or in a formally delivered school
session.
Focuses on enterprise, not entrepreneurship.
Supports cross curriculum work-related learning, with a functional
management information facility for teachers.
Benefits
Minimal teacher time involvement.
Monitoring log of student development.
Regular platform updates to include school events.

THE SKILLS FACTOR
a national skills competition
This Skills Factor competition asks students to show they have the
relevant skills, initiative, discipline and creativity to take an idea to
its full and final completion. This is a team competition and offers
the chance to win a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Free to enter for full or part time UK students aged 12 -19
(YC and non YC schools)
Free support and education materials
The aim of the competition is to give recognition to young people
that can prove they have the skills to enter the world of work.
Anyone involved in full-time education, vocational education
programmes, or home education can have the opportunity to
participate. The idea, product or concept can be commercial,
charitable or social: it’s the skills that count in this competition.
The team is not only being judged on the idea or product, but also
the skills they have developed to produce their idea or concept.
How the Skills Factor works
Step 1: Register
Step 2: Complete online entry form
Step 3: The semi-final - shortlisted teams to produce a
10 minute presentation
Step 4: The finalists will be invited to make their presentations in
person at a prestigious London venue

identify the skills and attributes required to work for themselves and if
they have a business idea, how to make an analysis to test the idea out.
Features & Benefits:
Students can evaluate a proposed business venture.
Review the business planning process, analysing strengths and weaknesses.
Helps with the understanding of budgets, costing, pricing and cash-flow
forecasts.
Gives tips and guidance on dealing with unanswered questions.
