December is a crazy month for you and for Medical Center
Dental Associates so we would like to give you a friendly
reminder that it’s time to schedule your dental visit(s) with Dr.
Szatkowski so you can optimize your insurance benefits.
Most dental benefit plans have
an annual maximum. This dollar
amount is set by your carrier
and it runs out at the end of the
annual contract period. For most
all plans this is December 31st.
This means that when the New
Year; 2015, whatever benefits you
may have left may be lost. Our
friendly staff will be happy to send
in an estimate for your care to
determine what coverage remains
if time allows. Appointment slots
are limited, so please make your
appointments early.
Thanksgiving is a time to give Thanks;
Dr. Szatkowski would like to thank his current patients for

Fall leads into a very busy time for everyone. With the leaves turning
beautiful colors and the air getting crisper, fall is a great time to get out
for a hike. Nature has a very calming effect and research shows that kids
who play in natural spaces exhibit higher levels of activity and experience
lower levels of bullying, ADHD and depression. So take advantage of
what fall can do for you, but be sure to build in time to explore the birds,
animals, creeks and rocks with your little ones.

Technology Update

We’ve recently upgraded our implant
technology with this powerful new digital 3
D cone beam scanner. This powerful scanner
allows us to see more comprehensive and
enhanced images of the head, neck and jaw
which enables us to make a better diagnosis
and treatment plan for your implants. This
scanner will also provide us with better
diagnostics in other areas of dentistry.
sports injuries
As summer comes to an end and the school year
begins, with it come popular fall sports and other
outdoor activities. The American Dental Association is
urging parents to protect their children’s teeth from
sports-related dental injuries with the use of properly
fitted mouthguards.
Dental injuries can occur in all sports, but they are
especially common in contact sports. Wearing a
properly fitted mouthguard can help protect the
mouth and prevent damage to the teeth, lips, tongue
and jaw. Mouthguards are designed to help cushion
the mouth, teeth and jaw, preventing significant
damage. Different sports involve different levels of
risk and potential injury, and while mouthguards are
not required equipment in some sports, wearing one
is an important precaution for athletes of any age and
ability. Dr. Szatkowski is a member of the Academy of
Sports Dentistry, and makes custom fitted mouthguards in many colors from a cast model of your teeth
which will provide the best level of protection for your kids!
