Discera 4 LED Specifications
The Discera 4 LED luminaire maximizes the lumen output of the LEDs with precision lens optics
that maintain a sharp cut-off and eliminate the normal “hot spot” directly under the luminaire
that HID luminaire's produce. Luminaire/pole spacings are very good, uniformity ratios and the
IESNA BUG (B1-U1-G1) ratings are excellent. The Discera LED luminaire is classified as full cutoff, Dark-Sky certified and has very low backlight levels. The Type III distribution is ideal for most
street lighting, parking area and walkway applications.
The sealed optic chamber with silicone gasket and door lens insures that dirt, insects and other
contaminants do not enter the optic chamber. Available in 50000 K design white when higher
lumen output is required and 35000 K neutral white with 20% lower lumen output but where a
warmer color temperature is preferred. CRI is 70-83 depending upon the CCT. Bi-level control
enables the lumen output and wattage to be reduced roughly 50% and can be integrated with
a time or motion controller for different applications.

LOW PROFILE
High pressure die-cast aluminum housing and door frame in a very low profile
complements all architectural building
environments. Low EPA and drag coefficient means wind-loading requirement
for pole is lower allowing a more cost
effective installation.

Stainless spring steel latch does not require
tools to access the optical and electrical compartment for servicing. Curvature of the latch
system is functional and does not detract from
the symmetry of the luminaire. Stainless steel
hinge allows the door to securely hinge down
and aligns the door when closing with the upper
housing for an IP66 and wet location listing.
Heavy-duty fitter is integrated into the die-cast
aluminum top housing so it does not look bulky.
Meets the needs for engineering applications
for lighting roadways and bridges when vibration and longer horizontal arms may be
required yet still maintains the sleek form an
architect may want.
The internal heat sink is cast as part of the outer
housing. Deep cooling fins effectively double
the surface area of the outer top housing insuring the junction temperature of the LED diode
is within ideal operating range for attaining
minimum 50,000 hour life.

SELUX uses high-flux, high-efficiency LEDs
from one of the leading manufacturers.
Available in 50000 K or 35000 K color temperature. 50,000 hour life based on IESNA LM-79-08
and LM-80 and LM-80 test criteria when operated under designed ambient temperatures.
Individual precision injection molded lenses
consisting of total internal reflection (TIR) collimator and one of three precision light-shaping
lenses. Flexibility to shape, direct and distribute
light. Photometry in accordance with IESNA
LM-79-08 and LM-80 test procedures from
independent lab.
LED BOARDS
MOUNTING PLATE
Designed for SELUX by an industry-leading PCB
manufacturer. Dual drive current on the boards
allows optional bi-level illumination. Optional
photocell, motion sensors or on-board timer
can be specified. On-board circuitry protection
to reduce wattage due to excessive ambient
temperatures to prolong LED lifetime and prevent catastrophic failure; auto re-start within
operating temperatures
Mounting plate for five rows of six LEDs each
are at different angles providing an efficient
uniform light distribution with low glare and
low footcandle levels on the house-side. LED
“light engine” mounting plate may be removed
and upgraded with the latest technology making it “future-proof”.

PHOTOMETRY
For many applications LED technology provides
advantages to traditional light sources. Common
themes are energy savings and long life. A sometimes overlooked aspect of LED performance is
the ability to evenly and precisely distribute the
light. “Coefficients of Utilization” (CU) is the ability of a luminaire to place the lumens produced
over a specified task plane.
With a 20 foot mounting height over a 27’ wide
street area, the Discera 4 LED luminaire delivers
60% of its lumens over that same area.
Lighting criteria such as average illuminance and
uniformity are improved by these distribution
characteristics. No hot spots. No wasted light, just
even high quality lighting.
