It gives employees working in engineering a basic all-round grounding in engineering operations and techniques. The competence element is designed to be tailored to operations in any given specific engineering sub sector. It is suitable for candidates whose job roles include: • Metal working operatives • Plant and machine operatives • Quality control • Routine inspection and testing • Production of parts using computer controlled equipment • Maintenance activity On completion of this apprenticeship you will achieve the following: • EAL Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations (QCF) • A level 2/3 technical certificate relevant to your job role • Essential Skills Wales - Application of Number Level 1 • Essential Skills Wales - Communication Level 1 • Foundation Apprenticeship in Improving Operational Performance Course Delivery An assessor will visit the candidate at their workplace once a month for a minimum of one hour. In addition to this, they will set approximately four hours of work to complete before the next meeting. The knowledge component will be delivered at a local college of your choice and funded by ACT. Recommended time on framework The recommended time to complete the Foundation Apprenticeship framework is 14 months.
