Higher Apprenticeship in Advanced Engineering Level 4 Choose from one of 3 Pathways HNC (Higher National Certificate) Diploma in Mechanical Engineering Pathway 1 and Mechanical EAL Level 4 Extended NVQ Diploma in Engineering Manufacture HNC (Higher National Certificate) Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Pathway 2 Engineering Electrical / and Electronics EAL Level 4 Extended NVQ Diploma in Engineering Manufacture HNC (Higher National Certificate) Diploma in Mechanical Engineering OR Pathway 3 HNC (Higher National Certificate) Diploma in Electrical/Electronic Maintenance Engineering and EAL Level 4 Extended NVQ Diploma in Engineering Manufacture Duration 24 months (36 months if PEO not already achieved at Level 2) Delivered mainly in the workplace with day release at college for one day Attendance per week (term time only). Structure of the apprenticeship This higher apprenticeship includes mandatory units and a range of optional knowledge and competence units. Assessments are conducted in the workplace through observation of the duties carried out and a range of other methods; including witness statements, professional discussions and reflective accounts.
