Research description
The research interest of Tord Claeson is focused on tunneling properties of solids, in particular superconducting tunneling
and mesoscopic systems. He has been a (co-)author of > 350 papers. Interests:
• superconductivity of metals and alloys (order/disorder, electron structure, new superconductors, etc)
• superconducting tunneling, including phonon spectroscopy of alloys
• proximity effects, gapless superconductivity
• amorphous and ultrathin films
• magnetic impurities, Kondo effect
• Josephson effects incl. coupled oscillators and parametric amplifiers
• SIS mixers for low noise mm wave receivers, arrays of junctions
• long Josephson junctions, solitons, fluxon generator and transistor
• nanometer fabrication and physics
• single electron tunneling phenomena, qp & pair oscillations, environment
• applications of SET
• Aharonov-Bohm effects, phase dependent transport in mesoscopic structures
• superconducting mesoscopics, 2DEG/superconductor, field effects, three terminal devices
