Administrative Communication Systems FEATURES 250 W Output Power Front-Panel LEDs: Output Signal Level, Temperature and Overload Indicators Temperature and Overload Projection Wide Frequency Response 20 to 20,000 Hz± 1 dB Low Distortion and Noise Levels Transformer Outputs: 4 , 8 , 25 V and 70 V Switchable Input Sensitivity: Balanced / Unbalanced Configuration DESCRIPTION The Telecor model TEL-250 Amplifier delivers up to 250 W of power at less than 0.5% total harmonic distortion with a frequency response of 20 to 20,000 Hz ± 1 dB. The device is designed for dependable continuous operation. Elaborate protection circuitry is implemented in the design, to ensure maximum protection from damage caused by overloads and shorted line conditions. ARCHITECTS & ENGINEERS SPECIFICATIONS FRONT PANEL INDICATORS Rear panel input terminals can accommodate both a balanced input signal source or a single-ended input signal source connection to the amplifier. A 0 dBv (1 V) or a -20 dBv (100mV) input signal level can be selected with a sensitivity switch. Barrier strips are used for input/output connections. This provides more secure wiring terminations and greater current handling capabilities than typical phone jacks or binding posts. The amplifier is provided with a recessed adjustable input attenuator. To prevent casual tampering, the control must be adjusted by means of a screwdriver. A plastic cap is supplied for added security. Current limiting protection is activated whenever the amplifier is overloaded. Current will be limited to the speaker load, and an LED will light, if the amplifier is overdriven, connected to an excessive load or short circuited. The Amplifier shall be a Telecor model TEL-250 or approved equal. The amplifier shall deliver an audio output of 250 W RMS at less than 0.05% harmonic distortion. Hum and noise levels shall be more than 80 dB below rated output. Frequency response shall be 40 - 15,000 Hz ± 1 dB. Frequency response shall be 20 - 20,000 Hz ± 1 dB when used with the optional T2 extended range output transformer. The amplifier shall be provided with both 600 balanced and 10k unbalanced inputs. The input sensitivity shall be selectable between 100 mV or 1V by means of a rear panel selector switch. A low cut switch shall be provided on the rear panel to attenuate low frequency signals below 100 Hz. The output shall be transformer isolated, with 4 , 8 , 25 V and 70 V constant voltage taps. The input level shall be adjustable by means of an input attenuator. The attenuator shall be recessed and shall be adjusted by means of a screwdriver, thereby avoiding casual or accidental setting changes. A security cover for the attenuator shall also be provided. The amplifier shall incorporate a 27 dB range VU meter, with 10 LEDs providing a 3 dB resolution scale in the display. A clip indicator shall be employed to indicate excessive input levels or an overloaded output condition. A thermal sensor detects excessive heat build-ups at the heat sink and automatically shuts the amplifier down, if necessary, to prevent damage to internal components. A warning LED lights in the event of an unusual temperature rise. A calibrated LED level meter indicates the amount of signal present in 3 dB steps, from - 30 dB to -3 dB. The clip LED lights whenever the output stage is about to clip from either an overdriven input or an overloaded output. TEL-250 250 Watt Amplifier INPUT ATTENUATOR The amplifier shall incorporate current limiting protection circuitry that activates whenever the amplifier is overloaded by overdriving, by connection to an excessive load or by a short circuit, limiting current to the speaker load. An LED shall be provided to indicate the presence of an overload condition. Output configurations are available for 4 or 8 speakers, as well as 25 V or 70 V constant voltage lines. (continued) Thermal sensors shall be employed to detect an excessive heat build-up and shall automatically shut the amplifier down to prevent any damage to internal components. The heat sink temperature shall be monitored. A warning LED shall light in the event of an unusual temperature rise. The amplifier shall use barrier strips for all input/output connections to provide optimum wiring and currenthandling terminations. TEL- 250 SPECIFICATIONS OPTIONAL ACCESSORIES Output Power: Freq.
