Ocala Stage Race
Race Guide
June 13-14, 2015
Race rules:
1. All Adult Categories will have time bonus’ in each of the two road races. See page 8.
2. Juniors will not have bonus’ and will be judged on raw time. Juniors will NOT use same time function so any
difference in time at the line will be calculated into the overall time.
3. General Classification: Adult categories will use same time function for both road races which means that any
riders within one second of the rider in front of them at the finish will be given the same time as the leader of that
group. Any rider with a separation over one second will be given his/her actual stage time.

4. Prize lists:
A. Will be based on Overall General Classification after all three stages.
B. The GC will be based on the lowest accumulated time minus any time bonus sprints or KOM bonus’.
C. Stage podiums will be held for all categories 5 minutes after the stage has been completed.
5. Riders must complete the full distance of all three stages to be considered for the GC Prize Money.
6. Riders may compete in individual stages in any category but are not part of the stage race.
7. We are parking and staging on private property.
A.PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL OF THE PROPERTY THAT WE HAVE USED FOR ALL 9 YEARS OF THE OCALA STAGE
RACE. IF YOU MAKE TRASH BE PREPARED TO CARRY IT OUT. WE WILL HAVE GARBAGE CANS AVAILABLE
BUT NOT ENOUGH FOR 300 PEOPLE PER DAY. THERE WILL ALSO BE PLENTY OF PORTABLE BATHROOM
FACILITIES ON HAND SO DO NOT USE THE WOODS!
8. Riders caught littering on the race course will be disqualified from the race. No bottles or wrappers or gel packets need to go anywhere but your pockets. This is not the Tour and we do not need to clean up after your laziness.
If only the lazy ones were still reading.
9. Time Trial start times will be posted by 12pm Saturday onsite and online. No TT entries will be accepted after
Noon Saturday.
A. There will be no warming up allowed on the TT race course itself. Riders must go south of the S/F line to
warm up.
10. WATER: It will be hot so please be prepared and bring lots of water. We do bring some water but it is impossible for us to bring enough water for all 300 racers each day.
11. Center line rule: This rule will be enforced on all roads. Although we are racing in the country the locals do not
expect to see a full road of cyclists taking up the whole road.
A. Riders will be warned once on the road and the second offense will result in disqualification.
B. Riders will have the full road for the last 400 meters each day.
C. During the TT you MUST STAY to the right.
12. Only official vehicles may follow races. No exceptions.

Same location and start/finish line for all three stages (isn’t that convenient?)
To get to the race course use I75 exit 358 and go west on Rt 326. Go 1.5 miles to flashing light and
turn right on NW 70th Ave. Continue on same road even though it changes numbers a few times
until left turn on NW 110th St. Go 1 mile to right turn on NW 90th. At this point you are on the race
course so use extreme caution. Parking is on the left. Use first entrance to giant parking area.

New Bigger Time Bonus Primes
There will be time Bonus primes for all adult categories at the end of the first lap of each
Road Race and at the finish line for each Road Race.
The Time Trial is raw time no bonus’ available.

Race Number Placement:
Please do not wrinkle or fold your number. The camera which backs up the chips cannot see a
wrinkled number, each fold creates an extra surface for glare. Pin it tight and it won’t flap.
Riders who do wrinkle the number will be fined by USAC and issued a new number.
Saturday Road Race: Left Side
Time Trial: Right side or right butt cheek. Not dead center back, this is not the Tour de France.
