ABB offers mirror contacts for its complete range of A-Line contactors to meet the requirements of today’s safety
applications. In addition, high electrical durability and auxiliary contacts that are capable of switching low power
signals (17V/1mA) make ABB contactors an ideal solution for safety installations where reliability is paramount.
Mirror contacts are normally closed (NC) auxiliary contacts that cannot occupy the closed position simultaneously
with the normally open (NO) main poles of the contactor as per IEC 60947-4-1. This prevents any ambiguous
signals in the case of welded contacts where the NC auxiliary contacts are being used for contactor status feedback – a prerequisite for safety circuits.
ABB also provides a contactor with non-removable auxiliary contact blocks for applications requiring the highest
level of safety category. This prevents the possibility of auxiliary contact blocks from being incorrectly fitted or
becoming detached.
