General Design Specifications:
Product Application: To provide an outdoor grade
level device that increases the available secondary
connection points near the distribution
transformer. It also provides a means of reducing
transformer replacement cost by minimizing the
secondary connections at the transformer. The bus
accepts single or double lugs for the NEMA
standard bolt hole pattern. The enclosure is
mounted on a vault, pad, or ground sleeve.
Enclosure Material: The standard enclosure
material is 12 gauge G90 galvanized steel in
accordance with ASTM 653, ASTM 924, and The
Durham Company specifications. As an option they
also may be fabricated from 12 gauge stainless
steel or 1/8” aluminum.
Enclosure Design: The enclosure design is
constructed for outdoor installation at 600 volt
applications. The enclosure is a bolted and welded
construction. Hinges are a stainless steel slip joint
type which allows removal of the door in the open
position. The padlockable handle is standardly
provided with a stainless steel penta head bolt with
three-point latching.
Enclosure Finish: The standard enclosure finish is
Munsell 7GY 3.29/1.5 “Pad-Mount Green” UltraWeatherable powder polyester. The finish is in
accordance with ANSI C57.12.28 and The Durham
Company requirements. Additional finish colors or
types are available as an option.
Labeling: A manufacturer identification nameplate
is applied to the exterior of the cabinet near the
locking provisions. Additionally, an interior label
notes the appropriate electrical ratings,
manufacture date, and application information.
The interior label is in accordance with UL969
performance requirements for exterior
applications. Cautionary labeling is installed on the
right hand interior and exterior doors.
