Position Summary: The Development Coordinator’s primary responsibility is to support the agency’s Development
Department; act as liaison to the agency’s Board of Director’s, as well as the administrative needs of the senior
management team as needed.
Essential Functions:
1. Serves as liaison between development and program staff; responsible for the collection and maintenance of
program information for proposals and reports to funders. Writes proposals and reports to funders as requested.
2. Serves as liaison to the Board of Director’s including attending all board and committee meetings, preparing
minutes, and disseminating general correspondence to board members.
3. Coordinates volunteers for weekly community meals with Community Resource Manager. Recruits and
communicates with volunteers for special events and as needed.
4. Maintains donor database, provides funding reports, and generates acknowledgements in a timely manner to all
donors. Assist with the planning and implementation of all fundraising events. Researches potential sources of
funding for agency.
5. Responsible for writing agency e-newsletter six times per year in collaboration with Development Manager.
6. Provides support for marketing, social media, and communication efforts.
7. Assists with maintaining the agency website.
8. Provides support for administrative functions related to the needs of the Board of Director’s, senior management
team, and the front office as needed.
9. Assists with Community Outreach as needed.
10. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications or Skills Required:
Required: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. Some experience working with or as a volunteer. Excellent
organizational and communications skills, verbal and written. Ability to build professional relationships. Ability to
communicate effectively via social media. Ability to take direction, work independently, and be self-motivated and as a
team player. Exemplary skill with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe products, and experience working with databases.
Collaborative, cooperative, and professional work style.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree with 1 - 3 years professional experience. Familiarity with the local nonprofit sector.
Interest in fundraising and development as a career. Familiarity with donor database management .
