B. Construction Company dated 24-01-2011 2. Sr. No 1 2 3 4 Any Pipe manufacturing process as accepted by IS, ASTM and various Codal provisions mentioned in tender specification is acceptable. Queries After Visiting the site, we feel that the time limit may please be kept at least 9 months excluding monsoon period since the work involves very deep excavation (up to 12 meter deep) in sandy strata and also because of the likely problem of sub soil water due to proximity of the river. The sides of the deep trenches have to be stabilized by giving slopes. The BOQ mentions that payment for only 2.8 meter of the trench width will be given irrespective of the actual excavation. This would make the contractor to assume for possibility of wider actual excavation and other contingencies (Which may or may not happen). This will reduce the tendering exercise to a gambling exercise. We, therefore, request you to grant the mode of measurement as per actual work done at site as far as excavation is concerned. Would you allow the excavated stuff to be used around the pipeline (Granular material as per item no: 2 to the BOQ)? As per item no: 5 of BOQ, the FRC manhole frame and cover will be paid separately but no separate item is given. Please clarify. Clarifications Time limit of 4 months specified in tender shall be adhered strictly. Only 2.8 m Trench width with vertical cut will be payable for pipes and for rest of the structures vertical cut of PCC size will be payable as per Item No.-01 of Sub section 6.1 of Bid BOQ. The granular material around pipe will be Coarse sand as stipulated in tender specifications. The Item No-5 includes as follows:1) Providing and fixing Glass fiber reinforced plastics (GRP) manhole of 2500 mm Diameter. 2) Excavation & refilling 3) Foundation PCC M-15, 4) RCC base slab in M-25 including steel 5) Providing and fixing FRC manhole frame and cover of heavy duty (35 Ton Capacity) 6) providing and fixing GRP steps in manhole Wherever Raising of manhole will be carried, It should be carried out in RCC M- 25. Which will be paid separately as per BOQ Item No. 6 in Section 6.2 and Reinforcement will be paid in respective Advance engineering consultant. ‘601, Abhishek Building, Opp. Hotel haveli , sector- 11, Gandhinagar-382011, Ph.: +91 79 23243608, Fax: 23243608, E-mail: advanceengconsultant@yahoo.co.in Page:3/5 item of reinforcement. Ten percent (10%) mobilization advance may please be given against a BG in lieu of 5% mentioned in the tender documents. The labor component of GRP lying is quite small and hence the payment against delivery of GRP pipes at site may please be at 85% of the quoted price. The retention money from each running bill may please be kept at 2% to help the contractor meet the heavy cash flow required to complete the project in a short time 5 6 7 Not Accepted. Same should be as per Tender provision Not Accepted. A letter from Sheth Construction Co. dated 24-01-2011 3. Sr. No 1 Not Accepted. Queries Change of Bid Capacity equation BC=AXNX1.5-B TO BC=AXNX3-B. And consider the time limit for above work 9 months minimum. Clarifications Not Accepted.
