GRANTE Antenna Development and Production Corporation Company Overview GRANTE Location Esztergom GRANTE Corporation headquarters are located in the heart of Central Europe, near Esztergom (formerly: Gran). The basic enclosed area is 72,000 m2 (built-in area: 13,000 m2), that includes four workshops, storehouses, and social buildings. Company Hungary Development An approximately 29,000 m2 measuring site belongs to the company for antenna measurements. Measuring tower Production Birdview of GRANTE Corporation History In the first decades antennas were mainly produced for military purposes (e.g. troposcatter system). Several wireless backbone networks were established using PME antennas, mainly in East Germany, Russia, India, and Hungary. The Olympic Games in Moscow were also broadcasted via FMV antennas in 1980. Production Development GRANTE understands that continuous conversation with our partners is essential. We beleive that our flexibility and uniquely short response time help our customers to find the optimum solution in any situation. Company Modeling and simulation methodology applies state of the art numerical, analytical and hybrid technologies to optimize the performance of the devices. Measurement Products Antenna radiation patterns are measured on GRANTE’s 1.8 km long slant measuring site. The propagation path is tilted by 1.5° to minimize earth reflection. Primary feed measurements are either performed in anechoic chamber or in our special absorbing paraboloid reflector. 1.5° transmitter antenna 55 m receiver antenna Imprint G R A N T E Anechoic chamber (top) and absorbing paraboloid reflector (bottom) Solutions High precision measuring equipments are available up to 60 GHz. 1.8 km Open Mind GRANTE Corporation has an open mind for the customer’s requirements. Even the smallest special request is welcome, because we know that development may never stop. © GRANTE Corporation 2 GRANTE Antenna Development and Production Corporation Production GRANTE Technology Antenna reflectors are made from aluminium and are produced with our special patented technology. Different radome types are available (conical, flat solid, and flat flexible) for different applications. Mounting structures are made from hot-dip-galvanized steel, stainless steel and aluminium. 0.3 m diameter high performance antenna with Remec RC1 ODU interface 0.6 m diameter high performance antenna with flat flexible radome CNC machine during the construction of a waveguide coupler Production Development High precision waveguide components are produced with CNC machines. Company All GRANTE products are developed, designed and produced primarily by ourselves (except for some special surface finishings). Our ISO:9001 certificate ensures the high quality of each product. Products Environmental Conditions The standard operating wind speed for antennas is 140 km/h (with 200 km/h survival wind speed). With optional wind kit, the increased survival wind speed is 240 km/h. Flexible radome reduces the risk of ice coating Solutions Operating temperature range is –55°C … +55°C, maximum relative humidity is 100 %. Imprint Packaging Antennas are packaged following the ‘minimum effort during installation’ principle. To achieve this, antennas up to 0.6 m diameter are fully assembled before packaging. For larger antennas, the package size is minimized, and mounting of the pre-assembled components on the antenna body requires only a few minutes. Fully assembled antenna in the package. The device is ready for hoisting, installation staff does not have to waste time in the site with final assembly. © GRANTE Corporation 3 GRANTE Antenna Development and Production Corporation Products Antennas GRANTE GRANTE Corporation offers a wide range of professional microwave parabolic antennas, for frequency ranges 1–40 GHz, with diameters 0.17–3.0 m. Available types cover the whole range of parabolic antennas—grid (up to 3.5 GHz), standard, high performance, and high cross-polar discrimination—, allowing system designers to choose according to their requirements on gain, interference protection, cross-polar discrimination, etc. Grid antennas (PA–GR) may stand extreme wind load Antenna Diameter [m] 0.17 0.22 0.3 0.4 0.6 0.8 1.2 1.5 1.8 Development Outdoor radio units from several manufacturers1 can be directly mounted on high performance antennas, however, special interface requirements can be fulfilled upon customer’s request. available upon special request 2.4 Company Antenna Families 3.0 1.5 2.0 Standard parabolic antenna (PA) for earth-satellite communication Production 2.5 3.5 4.0 5.0 7 High performance antennas (HPA) have outstanding interference protection Products 6U 8 10 Solutions Frequency Band [GHz] 6L 11 13 High cross-polar discrimination antennas (HXPA) have superior XPD Imprint 15 18 23 26 28 32 38 © GRANTE Corporation 1 Supported ODU manufacturers Alcatel NEC Ceragon Nokia DragonWave Remec Ericsson Sagem Huawei SIAE INTRACOM Siemens ISKRA Totaltel 4 GRANTE Antenna Development and Production Corporation Products Passive Components GRANTE Hybrids and Orthomode Transducers 100% Hy 50% (75%, 90%) Hybrids divide the input power into two (not necessarily equal) parts with identical polarization vertical (V) V+H OMT Company Combination of hybrids and orthomode transducers lead to manyradio systems, the real no-compromise solutions for mission critical applications. 50% (25%, 10%) Development Hybrids and orthomode transducers are 3-port microwave waveguide systems that split the input power into two parts, consequently, allow the simultaneous operation of two outdoor radio units (ODUs). Since the devices provide high inter-port isolation and low return loss, their application together with high performance antennas lead to use of two independent transmission channels on a single antenna at the same time. Orthomode transducers separate horizontal and vertical polarizations Orthomode transducer mounted on a high performance antenna Production horizontal (H) Accessories Coaxial–waveguide adapter Solutions Products Besides antennas and couplers, several types of accessories are available, such as coaxial-waveguide adapters, cables, waveguide bends, transitions, and many other components to make system integration easier and simpler. Measurement Systems Imprint GRANTE measurement systems are used for the complete indoor simulation of microwave links. The effect of fading and interference can be tested in single or dual polarized systems, and the benefits of special protection schemes may also be investigated in a simple and convenient way. V ODU HS ODU V ODU Today’s microwave networks place extreme demands on network operators. High reliability and high capacity are essential, but realizing this in practice is not trivial. End-users force operators to increase the bandwidth and the reliability of the links, while environmental constraints limit the number of applicable antennas. Antennas are placed behind specially designed microwave windows that don’t change the building aesthetics and integrity and have minimum insertion loss in the given frequency range, polarization, and radiation direction.
