History
In the first decades antennas were mainly produced for military
purposes (e.g. troposcatter system). Several wireless backbone
networks were established using PME antennas, mainly in East
Germany, Russia, India, and Hungary. The Olympic Games in
Moscow were also broadcasted via FMV antennas in 1980.

Solutions
Nowadays, GRANTE microwave antennas and passive components are widely used by telecommunication network operators.
Products
GRANTE Corporation was launched in 1993, however, its history
began in 1973 when Precision Mechanics Enterprise (PME, in
Hungarian: FMV) has started the production of microwave antennas and passive components.

Development
GRANTE understands that continuous conversation with our
partners is essential. We beleive that our flexibility and uniquely
short response time help our customers to find the optimum
solution in any situation.
Company
Modeling and simulation methodology applies state of the art
numerical, analytical and hybrid technologies to optimize the
performance of the devices.
Measurement
Products
Antenna radiation patterns are measured on GRANTE’s 1.8 km
long slant measuring site. The propagation path is tilted by 1.5° to
minimize earth reflection.
Primary feed measurements are either performed in anechoic
chamber or in our special absorbing paraboloid reflector.

Technology
Antenna reflectors are made from aluminium and are produced
with our special patented technology. Different radome types are
available (conical, flat solid, and flat flexible) for different applications. Mounting structures are made from hot-dip-galvanized
steel, stainless steel and aluminium.

Environmental Conditions
The standard operating wind speed for antennas is 140 km/h (with
200 km/h survival wind speed). With optional wind kit, the
increased survival wind speed is 240 km/h.

Solutions
Operating temperature range is –55°C … +55°C, maximum
relative humidity is 100 %.

Packaging
Antennas are packaged following the ‘minimum effort during installation’ principle. To achieve this, antennas up to 0.6 m diameter
are fully assembled before packaging. For larger antennas, the
package size is minimized, and mounting of the pre-assembled
components on the antenna body requires only a few minutes.

Antennas
GRANTE
GRANTE Corporation offers a wide range of professional microwave parabolic antennas, for frequency ranges 1–40 GHz,
with diameters 0.17–3.0 m. Available types cover the whole range
of parabolic antennas—grid (up to 3.5 GHz), standard, high
performance, and high cross-polar discrimination—, allowing
system designers to choose according to their requirements on
gain, interference protection, cross-polar discrimination, etc.

Development
Hybrids and orthomode transducers are 3-port microwave waveguide systems that split the input power into two parts, consequently, allow the simultaneous operation of two outdoor radio
units (ODUs). Since the devices provide high inter-port isolation
and low return loss, their application together with high performance antennas lead to use of two independent transmission
channels on a single antenna at the same time.

Accessories
Coaxial–waveguide adapter
Solutions
Products
Besides antennas and couplers, several types of accessories are
available, such as coaxial-waveguide adapters, cables, waveguide bends, transitions, and many other components to make
system integration easier and simpler.
Measurement Systems
Imprint
GRANTE measurement systems are used for the complete indoor
simulation of microwave links.
The effect of fading and interference can be tested in single or dual
polarized systems, and the benefits of special protection schemes
may also be investigated in a simple and convenient way.

Today’s microwave networks place extreme demands on network
operators. High reliability and high capacity are essential, but realizing this in practice is not trivial. End-users force operators to increase the bandwidth and the reliability of the links, while environmental constraints limit the number of applicable antennas.

Solutions
The basic concept of camouflage is to create fully invisible microwave links. Antennas are placed behind specially designed
microwave windows that don’t change the building aesthetics and
integrity and have minimum insertion loss in the given frequency
range, polarization, and radiation direction.
