Extensive range of enhanced performance cables for the
construction industry engineered from low smoke halogen
free materials with improved fire retardant properties
(over standard PVC cables) reduced smoke, acid gas and
hazardous fume generation particularly under fire conditions,
while retaining the excellent mechanical and electrical
properties designed into Nexans Olex cables.
Alsecure® Premium INFIT® (Ceramifiable®)
Complete range of high performance fire safety/ fire resistant
cables engineered from materials developed in conjunction
with CSIRO. This unique cable polymeric insulation material
hardens into a protective ceramic shield when exposed to fire,
maintaining circuit integrity and life-saving essential services.
In addition to its unique property, the material has low calorific
value and fire retardant properties with minimal generation of
hazardous smoke and corrosive fume emissions.

requirements as specified in AS1660.5.6.
Alsecure® Envirolex® products include readily strippable cables for general construction
purposes as well as the tougher products commonly found in cables with high
performance capability.
Alsecure® Envirolex® materials can also be used as alternatives for all other low voltage
power and control cables (Refer Nexans Olex Handbook for Low Voltage power and
Control cable from pages 8 to 25). Cables are available on request, subject to minimum
production run.

How does Alsecure® Premium® INFIT™ work?
INFIT™ technology operates by including the components to form a ceramic material
into a polymeric matrix that is the insulation of the cable. These components are able to
form a ceramic when activated by the high temperature of a fire. The aspect that defines
the product is that the transition is seamless, in that the ceramic is forming at the same
time as the polymer is degrading. This means that the insulation shape and size remains
approximately the same before and after a fire.
