The F5814 Recloser Test Interface unit is designed to interface between all 14 pin reclosers and the F6150 Power System Simulator. It provides testing for the control circuit independently (in the Simulate mode) or a complete functional test of the recloser (in the Operate mode). In both modes, the F6150 supplies the simulated currents to the F5814 which in turn is passed on to the controller. In Simulate mode, the recloser is out of the circuit. The F5814 simulates the 52a and 52b contacts. These simulated contacts produce the correct transitions as the controller reacts to various levels of currents. The user can use either the control panel feature of the F6150 or the ProTesT macros to test minimum pickup, timing of the curves, etc. For simulating the entire reclosing cycles, the ProTesT macro SSIMUL is a very good tool. Once the controller’s settings are verified with the Simulate function, switching to the Operate mode will allow the control signal to be passed through, thereby operating the recloser itself and hence verify full functionality. The use of ProTesT macros is recommended since the tests conducted using these macros provides standardization and tests are repeatable. In addition, the use of ProTesT allows for report generation and the maintenance of the database. F6350 Real Time Power System Simulation Interface You can now convert your F6150 to a set of voltage and current amplifiers whenever there is a need for such an application. In this mode of operation, the F6150 converts to a set of voltage and current ampliers. These amplifiers can be controlled by RTDS. Hence low level signals from the RTDS are fed to the F6350 via a special Doble furnished cables. The output of the F6350 is amplified signals that are supplied to the relays or protection schemes under test. You can use multiple F6350 and get as many voltage and current signals you require for complete testing of relays and protection schemes. If you only need additional current channels, you can use F6300 instead of a second F6350 to get the required number of current channels. RTDS An optional voltage cable is available for applying three phase Source and Load voltages. This helps testing of the supervised closing of the recloser. ProTesT™ and F6TesT™ Automation Software Systems These software programs enable fully automated control of Doble test instruments for simplified, accurate testing of protection schemes. The software eliminates manual errors to improve productivity. Relational database architecture stores protection settings, test methods and test history. Protective Relay Under Test Current/Voltage Amplifiers The conversion of F6150 to F6350 is very simple. It requires a simple replacement of a single I/O card and installation of the firmware. Converting the F6350 back to F6150 is also simple. Simply replace the original I/O card and load the firmware needed for F6150. This will convert your F6350 back into an F6150. Current Probe (AC/DC) Doble’s Current Probe (Part Number 401-0055) is a tool that aids in the measurement of current signals when using the recording feature of Doble’s Transwin program. This probe converts the current in the conductor that it encircles into an equivalent voltage signal. This equivalent voltage signal when applied to the logic input of the F6150 gets translated into appropriate amperes by the Transwin program.
