Call Toll Free 1-877-GO ALTEC 4 High Voltage Testers Voltage Detector Voltage Detector Tester These detectors are used to verify live or de-energized conductors. These may be used with rubber insulating gloves or hot sticks using the splined universal end fitting. Each tester has a 4.5 volt transistor amplifier with audio/visual indicator. It is recommended that the tester be moved closer to conductor until warning is indicated, or it touches conductor, apparatus, or test point. Test the unit on a nearby conductor to get verification of “dead”. Each tester includes three C batteries. The voltage detector tester provides the most convenient and reliable means of verifying operation of voltage detectors. The tester is self contained and features instant push-button operation and requires a standard 9-volt battery. It’s portable and lightweight. To operate, push the button and move the tester toward the voltage detector being verified. An electric field activates the detector causing the audible and visual signals to operate. • Kit includes: Voltage detector, Shotgun Adapter, and Storage case • Voltage Settings: Off/240V/4.2kV/15kV/25kV/35kV/69kV/230kV P/N 9000-99676 Voltage Detector Kit P/N 9000-99677 Self-Testing Voltage Detector Kit Multi-Range Voltage Detectors The Multi-Range Voltage Detector (MRVD) confirms that a line is de-energized prior to performing maintenance on it. The MRVD gives a metered readout capable of distinguishing actual line voltage from static or feedover from an adjacent line. Readings from an MRVD can be compared with numeric certainty rather than the subjective judgments associated with “fuzz-sticking” or “glow-detecting.” Since the MRVD is not a voltmeter, no specific accuracy is claimed by the manufacturer or can be assumed by the user. P/N 9000-99664 1-40kV MRVD P/N 9000-99665 16-161kV Included with each MRVD: • Carrying case • Hook probe • Straight probe* P/N 9000-99678 Voltage Detector Tester AB Chance Auto-Ranging Voltage Indicator This instrument makes hot-line voltage testing easier than ever. Its automatic-ranging function quickly displays the approximate lineto-line voltage class with bright display lights. Simple to operate, the tester attaches to an Epoxiglas® insulated universal handle of appropriate length (Not Included). A single push-button activates the instrument, then a single light indicates either Power On (by glowing solid) or Low Battery (by blinking). It automatically begins detecting at approximately 480 Volts and holds the display of one of these voltage classes: 600V, 4kV, 15kV, 25kV, 35kV, or 69kV phase-to-phase. The audible signal begins as a slow beeping that becomes faster as the final reading is displayed. Included with each Indicator: • Shepherd hook probe • Instruction manual • Hard shell padded case P/N 9000-99672 *Straight probe is only included with P/N 9000-99664 Cable Length Meters • Easy to operate, calibrate and set for cable being measured, 4-1/2 digit LCD read-out • Calibration coil included for compensation of temperature coefficients • Includes: leather case, canvas accessory bag, built-in battery, battery charger and large clamps P/N 9000-99659 Measurements in Feet P/N 9000-99660 Measurements in Meters • Direct read length measurements up to 1999 ft.(609.3 m) in 12 sizes of copper or aluminum insulated cable up to 500 MCM (240 mm2), 3-1/2 digit LCD read-out • Calibration coil included for compensation of temperature coefficients • Includes: leather case, canvas accessory bag, batteries and large clamps P/N 9000-99661 Measurements in Feet P/N 9000-99662 Measurements in Meters for mm2 cable sizes P/N 9000-99663 Measurements in Meters for AWG, and MCM cable Caution Electrocution hazard: Death or serious injury could result from misuse of electrical test equipment. Operators of electrical test equipment must understand the manuals provided with this equipment and use safe work practices. 5 Phasing Testers Standard Meter These phasing testers easily determine phase relationships and approximate voltage, line-to-line or line-to-ground. Each tester consists of two fiberglass poles with end fittings threaded for interchangeable probes. The probe fittings couple with a high-impedance component encased in each pole. To complete the test circuit, a 22-foot length of insulated flexible cable stores on a reel affixed to one pole and connects to the voltmeter on the other pole. Simple to operate, the tester poles first attach to two 6-foot Epoxiglas® insulating universal handles (included in each kit for proper working clearances). Then the probes can be brought into contact with the conductors appropriate for the meter to read phase-to-phase or phase-to-ground voltage. P/N 9000-99667 16kV Tester Kit Kit includes: Two 6’-long x 1¼”-dia. Epoxiglas® universal handles with storage bag, tester, hook probes, case and instruction manual. Digital Meters The large direct-reading display of these Digital Phasing Testers easily determines phase relationship and approximate voltage, line-to-line or line-to-ground. Push-button controls permit easy selection of options for display, such as backlight and hold features. The unit’s sleep mode automatically conserves the battery when not in use. P/N 9000-99669 16kV Tester Kit* P/N 9000-99670 40kV Tester Kit Kit includes: Two 6’-long x 1¼”-dia. Epoxiglas® universal handles with storage bag, tester, hook probes, case, instruction manual, two bushing adapters, one elbow adapter and a phasing voltmeter tester. *Also includes DC Hi-Pot Adapter Dual-Range Meters For convenience on different systems, the toggle switch on the meter housing can switch calibration between the two scales on the meter face. Plus, it improves readability for low-end values on the Hi (16kV) scale. Switched to the Lo (5kV) range, those values deflect the needle more to give more finite readings. P/N 9000-99668 5 & 16kV Tester Kit P/N 9000-99666 5 & 16kV Tester Kit* Kit includes: Two 6’-long x 1¼”-dia.
