OPERATION
The jockey pump automatically starts upon receipt of a signal from the system pressure switch and
continues to operate until pressure is restored where it will stop automatically.
PUMP Design
The SV in-line vertical multistage design is compact, easily maintainable and ideally suited to the
application of pipeline pressurisation on fire sprinkler and hydrant systems where the pump may be
starting and stopping frequently. The seal housing chamber is designed to prevent accumulation of air
in the critical area next to the mechanical seal.
Connections
The base mount has 25mm inline branches with round flanges rated to PN25
Construction
The wetted hydraulic parts are constructed from AISI 304 stainless steel material. The shaft sleeve is
tungsten carbide, bushings are ceramic whilst the base and coupling are aluminium. There is an EN
12756 mechanical seal with silicon carbide / carbon faces and EPDM elastomers the motor adaptor is
cast iron.
MOTOR
The totally enclosed fan cooled IP55 Aluminium frame motor, suitable for 380 / 415v 3ph 50 Hz
supply, is mounted vertically on top of the pump. It has Class F insulation suitable for ambient
temperatures up to 40oC, Class 2 efficiency values, and performance figures in accordance with EN
60034-1.
STARTER Design
The UL Listed starter is designed for fire pump service in accordance with the requirements of
NFPA20 employs a direct-on-line contactor, with protective overload relay, for the connection of the
pump motor. The starter is suitable for the control of one pump motor.
Within the enclosure is a pressure switch, piped to an external ¼ “ NPT connector, with independent
high and low set points for automatic start and stop.
Enclosure
All the components are housed in a dust and damp protecting single section sheet steel NEMA 2
enclosure having a hinged front cover. The enclosure is wall mounted using internal fixing points and
designed for bottom cable entry
