TO PREVENT INJURY OR PROPERTY DAMAGE:

READ AND FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS IN THEIR ENTIRETY TO ENSURE PROPER

INSTALLATION

FOR PROPER AND SAFE INSTALLATION:

CABINETS SHALL ALWAYS BE ANCHORED TO THE FLOOR OR WALL TO GUARD

AGAINST ACCIDENTAL TIPPING.

ALL CABINETS THAT CONTAIN DRAWERS SHALL USE A BASE AND CAN NOT BE

MOUNTED TO THE WALL TO PREVENT FAILURE OF WALL UNDER HEAVY LOADS .

A MINIMUM OF 3/8” ANCHORING HARDWARE IS REQUIRED FOR MOUNTING OF STRUT

CHANNEL TO THE WALL (customer supplied). THE HARDWARE SHALL BE

APPROPRIATE FOR THE TYPE OF WALL BEING USED.

WALL ANCHORS SHALL BE LOCATED A MAXIMUM OF 2 FEET APART AND/OR WITH A

MINIMUM OF 8 ANCHORS PER CABINET WIDTH.

A MINIMUM OF 3/8” HARDWARE IS REQUIRED FOR MOUNTING OF STRUT CHANNEL

COMPONENTS TO ONE ANOTHER DURING FRAME CONSTRUCTION (Stanley Vidmar

P/N ATWMKB).

ALL CABINETS SHALL BE BOLTED SIDE TO SIDE TO GUARD AGAINST ACCIDENTAL

TIPPING.

3.1. FRAME MOUNTED INSTALLATIONS

ATC workstations can be mounted using a strut channel frame , allowing the workstations to be placed d irectly on the floor.

Strut channel frames will be necessary for the mounting of the overhead storage cabinets.

ATC workstations can be mounted directly to the wall using commercially available wall mounted strut cha nnels.

Step 1. If the cabinet leveling feet kit (Stanley Vidmar P/N LMK2) was ordered , install the leveling feet first according to steps 1 through 3 in the instru ctions provided with the LMK2 kit, (Stanley

Vidmar instructions 048127 -2).

Step 2. Refer to section 4 to construct your strut channel frame.

Step 3. For multiple cabinets, place all of the base cabinets to be installed side by side then bolt together using the supplied ¼ -20 cabinet connecting h ardware (Stanley Vidmar P/N CCH3 ).

Refer to section 6.3 for cabinet side to side bolting information.

Step 4. Attach the strut channel frame created in step 2 to the base cabinets using 3/8” hardware

(Stanley Vidmar P/N ATWMKB). Refer to section 6 for cabinet to frame mounting information. Do not attach the overhead cabinets at this point.

Step 5. Anchor cabinets to the floor at the end of each bank of cabinets. Refer to section 6.4

for detailed instructions on floor anchoring .

Step 6. Mount the overh ead cabinets using ¼” hardware (Stanley Vidmar P/N ATWMKO). Refer to section 6.2

for additional overhead cabinet mounting information.

Step 7. Mount any additional accessories as discussed in section 7.

Step 5. Place the base cabinets against the wall with t he frame attached. Mark locations for wall anchors on the wall using each of the vertical strut channels attached to the lower bank of cabinets as a template. The installer shall use at least one anchor per vertical strut.

Step 6. Pull cabinet and frame away and install 3/8” (minimum) anchoring hardware to wall.

Step 7. Place the cabinets and frame back against the wall and bolt strut channel to wall using the anchors. T ighten all hardware to appropriate specifications based on hardware used.

Step 8. Mount the overhead cabin ets using ¼” hardware (Stanley Vidmar P/N ATWMKO). Refer to section

6.2 for additional overhead cabinet mounting information.

Mount any additional accessories as discussed in section 7.

3.6 FRAME MOUNTED, WALL ANCHORED (WITHOUT BASE)

Use this option if:

You ha ve a cabinet without a base and no drawers.

You will have a clearance between the floor and the cabinets

You have a wall which you SHALL anchor directly to.

You require uprights to support the overhead due to a low wall or you have vertical obstacles that you need to provide clearance for.

Step 1. Refer to section 4 to construct your strut channel frame.

Step 2. Place the strut channel frame against the wall. Refer to section 5 to determine the centerline of chan nel B on the wall.

Step 3. Mark a minimum of 4 locations per each vertical strut channel using the properly located strut channel frame as your template. Use these locations for installing your wall anchors. Anchors shall be a maximum of 2 feet apart.

Step 4. Move the strut channel frame away from the wall and install 3/8” (minimum) anchoring hardware.

Step 5. Bolt the strut channel frame to the wall (minimum 3/8” anchoring hardware, customer supplied).

The installer shall use a minimum of 4 bolts are used per each vertical stru t channel support.

Step 6. Mount the first base cabinet to the strut channel using 3/8” hardware (Stanley Vidmar P/N

ATWMKB). Mount the overhead cabinets using ¼” hardware (Stanley Vidmar P/N ATWMKO).

Refer to section 6 for cabinet mounting information

Step 7. For multiple cabinets , place all of the base cabinets to be installed side by side then bolt together using the supplied ¼ -20 cabinet connecting hardware (Stanley Vidmar P/N CCH3). Refer to section 6.3 for cabinet side to side bolting information .

Step 8. Mount any addition al accessories as discussed in section 7.

Step 3. Mount the first base cabinet to the strut channel using 3/8” hardware (Stanley Vidmar P/N

ATWMKB). Mount the overhead cabinets using ¼” hardware (Stanley Vi dmar P/N ATWMKO).

Refer to section 6 for cabinet mounting information

Step 4. For multiple cabinets , place all of the base cabinets to be installed side by side then bolt together using the supplied ¼ -20 cabinet connecting hardware (Stanley Vidmar P/N CCH3 ). Refer to section 6.3 for cabinet side to side bolting information.

Step 5. Mount any additional acce ssories as discussed in section 7.

Step 4. Mount the overhead cabinets using ¼” hardware (Stanley Vidmar P/N ATWMKO). Refer to section 6.2

for additional overhead cabinet mounting information.

Step 5. Ensure that the back of the overhead cabinets and the back of the base cabinets are aligned

(dotted line in illustration) . To do this, make sure there is a gap between the wall and the lower cabinets equal to the gap between the overhead cabinets and the wall.

Step 6. For multiple cabinets , place all of the cabinets to be installed side by side then bolt together using the supplied ¼ -20 cabinet connecting hardware (Stanley Vidmar P/N CCH3 ). Refer to section 6.3 for cabinet side to side bolting information.

Step 7. Anchor cabinets to the floor on t he end of each bank of cabinets. Refer to section 6.4 for detailed instructions on floor anchoring.

Mount any additional accessories as discussed in section 7.

Step 3. Continue installing cabinets according to selected installation option.

Step 1 Locate slope top weldment. Orient the slope top weldment with slope toward the front of

the cabinet.

Step 2 Install strip s of double sided f oam tape along the top of the cabinet toward the left and

right edges. O riented the tape strips from front to back of the cabinet .

Step 3. Position the slope top weldment onto the top of cabinet with double sided foam tape in

between. Press down firmly on the top weldment to achieve total surface adhesion on

the double sided tape.

Step 4. Secure the slope top weldment to the cabinet with two ¼-20 X ½ truss screws, two ¼ flat

washers, two ¼ lock -w ashers, and two ¼-20 hex nuts. [Note: The truss screws are installed

from inside of the cabinet.] (See figure 6.2.2 and Note A )

SECTION 7. OPTIONAL ACCESSORY INSTALLATION AND USE

7.1. HYDRAULIC LIFT MOTOR ENCLOSURE

Drilling may be required for this step depending on installation method

When mounting lift enclosure to cabinets, use supplied cabinet connecting hardware (CCH3).

Work surface shall be installed prior to installing Lift Motor Enclosures and shall overhang 12 -1/8 ” over side of last base cabinet .

Hang the back panel to the strut channel if wall mounting with other ATC components. For cabinets other than ATC , install back panel edge 26.75” back fr om the front of the housing using self tapping sheet metal screws.

7.2 HYDRAULIC LIFT MOTOR BRACKET (ROTARY or CHALLENGER WITH FRONT MOUNTED

CONTROLS)

Step 1 Orient the Motor Mounting Bracket with the 16 slots facing forward and the opening facing down.

Step 2 Align the Motor Mounting Bracket so that it is flush with the top of the work surface and the side of the cabinet (not the side of the Lift Motor Enclosure)

Step 3 Then place the mount 10” away from the front edge of the enclosure

Step 4 Use mounting Bracket as template to drill .270” holes and use supplied Cabinet Connecting Kit to Mount loosely to the cabinet. Use Lag Screws to mount loosely to the work surface.

Step 5 Mount lift motor without oil reservoir fil led to front of bracket to ensure proper fitment with front cover (if ordered) and the controls on the front of the Lift Motor.

Step 6 Tighten all hardware and make adjustments to align lift motor controls with holes in front cover.

Step 1 Orient the Motor Mounting Bracket with the 16 slots facing forward and the opening facing down.

Step 2 Align the Motor Mounting Bracket so that it is fl ush with the top of the work surface and the side of the cabinet (not the side of the Lift Motor Enclosure)

Step 3 Place the mount 16” away from the front edge of the enclosure

Step 4 Use mounting Bracket as template to drill .270” holes and use supplied Cabinet Connect ing Kit to Mount loosely to the cabinet. Use Lag Screws to mount loosely to the work surface.

Step 5 Mount lift motor with empty oil reservoir to front of bracket

Step 6 Mount Rotary Air Lock Shutoff switch so that the rotary on/off switch protrudes through the front cover.

Step 7 Tighten all hardware and make adjustments to align lift motor controls with holes in front cover.

Step 1 Locate base. Install Adjustable Leveling Mount Kit to the base using LMK2 (not always

used) and CAK1 or CAK2 kits (sold separately). (Note: Do not drill and lag to floor at

this time.) Installation instructions are included in kits.

Step 2 Locate housing. Install housing onto the base; with align the front opening in the

housing with the front opening in the base.

Step 3 Secure housing to base with six 5/16-18 x ¾ bolts.

Step 4 Move the assembled unit under the counter top.

housing with the four holes in the cabinet next to it. Secure with the Cabinet

Connecting Hardware Kit CCH3.

Step 5 Use four #14 x 1 lag screws to secure the housing to count er top.

Step 6 Anchor the unit with drilling and lagging to floor using CAK1 or CAK2 kit.

• UNDER COUNTER TOP INSTALLATION (with base, mounted to strut channel)

(see FIGURE 7.2A )

Step 1 Follow steps 1 through 3 for housing to base installation.

Step 2 Refer to Section 3 for appropriate Frame Mount or Wall Mount using the strut

channel frame.

Step 3 Install the twirl nuts that came w ith ATWMKO hardware kit into the strut channel and

Step 1 Locate housing. Place wood blocks on floor, approximately 8 -1/2 inches high in the

location where housing will be install to the counter top.

Step 2 Refer to Section 3 for appropriate Frame Mount or Wall Mount using the strut

channel frame.

Step 3 Install the twirl nuts that came with ATWMKO hardware kit into the strut channel and

Po sition the nuts to align with the four openings in back panel of the housing.

Step 4 Move the housing under the counter top and on top of the wood blocks. Align

openings in the back panel to the twirl nuts. Secure with lockwashers and hex head

screws came with ATWMKO Hardware Kit.

Note: If the enclosure is next to an existing cabinet, the front of the housing should be aligned with the front of the cabinet. Align the four slots in the side panel of the

housing with the four holes in the cabinet next to it. Secure with the Cabinet

Connecting Hardware Kit CCH3.

Step 5 Use four #14 x 1 lag screws to secure the housing to counter top.

WARNING: Housing with base shall be anchored to the floor [ LMK2 (not always used)

version installation. )

LIFT MOTOR & FRONT PANEL INSTALLATION(see FIGURES 7.2D & 7.2E )

Step 1 Locate motor mount bracket and attached it to the lift motor using four 5/16-18 x 1

or 5/16 -18 x 3/4 bolts, nuts an d washers. (See FIGURE 7.2C)

Step 2 Attached the roll-out motor bracket to the assembled motor mount bracket with lift

motor attached (on Step1), using four 5/16 -18 x ¾ bolts and nuts. (See FIGURE 7.2C)

Step 3 Install the assembled unit int o the housing by tilting and inserting the two side rollers

into the two roller channels in the housing. (See FIGURE 7.2C)

Step 4 Push the roll-out motor bracket in until it stops and is seated.

Step 5 To align the control button/lever on the lift motor with the front panel, install the front

panel onto the housing. (See FIGURE 7.2D)

(If re -alignment is necessary, remove front panel and reposition the lift motor and the

mounting brackets.)

Step 6 Refer to owner’s manual of the lift motor to connect hydraulic and electrical.

7.4.1 OVERHEAD LIGHTS (see Figures 7.4A & 7.4B)

NOTE : Keyboard tr ays shall not be used in combination with light fixtures.

When using overhead lights the Overhead Light Control Panel must be ordered, ATOSLFXX where XX denotes the width of the overhead the bracket is to be used with.

Drilling is required for the mounting of the Light Fixtures

Step 1 Place the lights on the desired side of the Light Feature Bracket and using the Light Fixture as a template mark the small portion of the keyhole for drilling. Make sure that the Light Fixture is at least 1” away from the back o f the Light Feature Bracket to allow clearance for oval holes. If Lift controls are to be used, make sure to shift the Light fixture to the opposite side of the controls.

Step 2 Drill Holes and use supplied Sheet metal screws to attach the light fixture.

Step 3 Screw the Light feature bracket to the bottom of the overhead using the supplied sheet metal screws.

7.4.2 LIFT CONTROL (see Figures 7.4A & 7.4B)

When using Lift controls Overhead Light Control Panel must be ordered, ATOSLFXX where XX denotes the width of the ov erhead the bracket is to be used with.

Drilling may be required for Lift control installation,

7.5 KEYBOARD TRAY INSTALLATION

NOTE : Keyboard trays shall not be used in combinations with light fixtures.

There is no drilling required for keyboard tray installations.

Keyboard trays come in two boxes, one for the articulating arm, and one for the tray.

Step 1 Install the articulating arm to the raise portion, on the underside of the cabine t, first according to the manufacturer’s instructions.

Step 2 Complete assembly of the keyboard tray to the arm using th e manufacturers’ instructions.

7.7 HOSE REEL ROLLER ASSEMBLY.

The Chrome hose reel roller assembly is shipped separately from the painted Hose Reel Guide

Fa scia Insert (A THG1)

To attach the Chrome Roller Assembly to the ATHG1, undo the 4 bolts on the outer perimeter of the Chrome Roller Assembly and overlay the hole pattern with that of the ATHG1. If you have a light reel with a large end attachment, you shall pass the at tachment through at this point while the chrome roller assembly is disassembled . Re-install the 4 bolts, connecting the two parts.

Once the location of the roller assembly has been determined, install the assembly to the fascia using the supplied ¼-20 Har dware.

7.8 CHASE PANEL INSTALLATION

NOTE : Chase panels work only with tops that have 3” Backsplashes.

Step 1 Place the grooves at the edge of the chase panel over the edge of the back splash

Step 2 Rotate the chase panel into position and fasten to overheads with supplie d ¼”-20 Hardware

Step 3 If Holes in Chase panel do not align with holes in the overheads, raise or lift the overheads accordingly.

7.9 STAINLESS STEEL AND PAINTED STEEL TOPS

NOTE: Liquid Nails or equivalent polyurethane glue is required to attach painted steel to ps to the wood core. Drying time may be 10 -24 hours. Painted Steel tops are shipped separately from their wood cores.

Installation of wood core tops is very important to the construction of ATC work centers.

If Stainless Steel Tops with wood cores are ordered, install the top according to Vidmar work surface installation instructions using 1 ½“ supplied Lag Screws.

If Painted Steel Tops are ordered. First install the wood core to the work center using lag screws, according to Vidmar work surface instal lation instructions. Then using a commercially available polyurethane glue, attach the steel portion of the top to the wood core. Apply glue according to manufacturers’ directions and place ~ 200 lbs of weight on top of wood surface distributed evenly to ensure adhesion.
