Parent Consultation Drop In
Evening (YR-4) Tuesday 19th
July 2016
There
will
be
a
Parent
Consultation Drop In Evening for
YR-Y4 on Tuesday 19th July 2016
from 3-6.00pm. This will be an opportunity for you to
come in and have a look at your child’s work. Letters
have been sent home in book bags with further
details.
Car Park Incident – Thursday
On Thursday morning one of our mums had their car
bumped whilst it was parked in the tennis club car
park. Another parent saw that it was a black car,
driven by a gentleman. If this was you, can you
please can you contact the office so that your
details can be given to the parent who had their car
bumped.
Parents; please drive carefully during these busy times
thank you.
Year 4 Leavers Service Thursday 21st July 2016
Hot School Meals
Year 4 will be having a Leavers Service (2pm)
followed by bowling on Thursday 21st July 2016. Could
Year 4 parents please make cakes for the tea party
that takes place after the service. Thank you.
Non Uniform Day Friday 22nd July 2016
Children can come to school in non-uniform for a
donation of £1 on Friday 22nd July 2016. The money
raised will go towards new topic resources.
Friends Meeting Friday 22nd July 2016
The Friends will be having a short meeting in the Tree
House at 9am on Friday 22nd July 2016.
HOLIDAY CLUB NEWS
HOLIDAY ACTIVITY CLUB 1 – 5 AUG 2016
Woodpeckers Holiday Club will be running from 1 – 5
August 2016 and will be open from 8am – 5pm. The
cost for the whole day will be £25.00 or £115.00 for the
week. Letters have been sent home, but if you have
not received one, please contact the office. 01905
620384. CHILD CARE VOUCHERS CAN BE USED FOR
PAYMENT.
Woodpeckers Holiday Club will also be open from 2428 Oct 2016 from 8am-5pm. Forms have been sent
out, but if you have not received one please contact
the office or email: office@ombersley.worcs.sch.uk.
Woodpeckers Holiday Club will also be open on the
following Teacher Training days: 31 Oct 2016, 3 Jan
2017 and 5 June 2017. Again forms have been sent
out, but please email the above email address if you
are interested in booking a place.
Class Catering have asked us to ask that if you order
a hot school meal/sandwich from them for your child
could you please not then send them in with a
packed lunch. A few people have done this and it is
leading to food being wasted. Thank you.
Attendance
OTIS (On Time In School) bear is awarded each week
to the class with the best attendance and
punctuality. This week OTIS has been awarded to
Year 3.
Hot Weather
If we should be lucky enough to have warm weather
please provide your child with a hat and a water
bottle. Please apply sun cream before school as we
cannot apply it at school. Please do not send your
child to school with sunglasses. If your child has hay
fever, please send a letter to their class teacher if you
wish them to keep off the field during break times.
School Milk
We are registered with the milk scheme, Cool Milk. If
your child is under 5 they are entitled to free school
milk. We have registered all Reception Class children
for this. When your child turns 5, you have the option
to pay for their milk to continue. Milk is 21p and
parents are responsible for registering their child/ren
for milk on the Cool Milk website. Visit
www.coolmilk.com and select “Register your child for
milk here”, then follow the on-screen instructions to
register and pay.
SOCIAL MEDIA
It has come to our attention that a grievance
regarding school policy has been aired on social
media, inviting varied comments. We ask all parents
to be careful what they say on social media and
should they have a grievance to speak to Mrs Moore.

LITTLE ACORNS NEWS
Please could you make sure that children have a sun
hat and coat in Nursery at all times. Please ensure
that they have had sun lotion applied before coming
into their sessions. Thank you

ANY FOOD CONTAINING NUTS FOR LUNCH (THIS
INCLUDES PEANUT BUTTER) AS THERE ARE CHILDREN IN

Lunchtime Award For Excellent Manners
With effect from 1 September 2016 the charges for
will increase by 50p per hour for Woodpeckers
Afterschool Care and Breakfast Club. This is due to
the implementation of the minimum wage.
BREAKFAST CLUB
Opening Times: 7.45-8.45am

At Breakfast Club we serve a variety of cereals, toast
along with milk and juice to drink. Breakfast is served
until 8.20am. Could we please ask that you do not
arrive before 7.45am. Thank you.
Could we please ask that children in both Breakfast
and After School Club DO NOT open the door to the
outside as it is security locked for safeguarding.
