THE DRAWINGS INDICATE A SUGGESTED SPRINKLER HEAD LAYOUT AND THAT EACH AREA IS COVERED BY SPRINKLER EXACT
LOCATIONS. REFER TO NFPA 13 FOR EXACT SPACING, DENSITY, AND LOCATION REQUIREMENTS. CONTRACTOR SHALL INSTALL
QUICK RESPONSE TYPE SPRINKLER IN ENTIRE BUILDING. USE OF EXTENDED COVERAGE, QUICK RESPONSE, TYPE SPRINKLER
MAY BE USED WITH THE APPROVAL OF THE OFFICE OF THE STATE FIRE MARSHAL.CONTRACT DOCUMENTS SHOW STANDARD
COVERAGE SPRINKLERS WITH STANDARD SPACING BETWEEN SPRINKLERS PER NFPA 13. USE OF EXTENDED COVERAGE TYPE
MAY REDUCE NUMBER OF SPRINKLERS ON THE PROJECT.
PIPING SHOWN ON DRAWINGS IS DIAGRAMMATIC, AND INDICATES GENERAL ARRANGEMENT OF
WORK. LOCATE SPRINKLER HEADS AS INDICATED ON DRAWINGS. CONNECT TO EXISTING, OR
RUN NEW PIPING, AS REQUIRED FOR A COMPLETE AND OPERATIONAL SYSTEM IN
ACCORDANCE WITH NFPA 13.
4.
SPRINKLERS IN FINISHED CEILING AREAS SHALL ALWAYS BE LOCATED IN THE CENTER OF CEILING TILES UNLESS
CODES AND STANDARDS
5.
THE FIRE PROTECTION CONTRACTOR SHALL REVIEW THE ARCHITECTURAL REFLECTED CEILING, ELEVATION AND SECTION
PLANS AS PART OF THIS CONTRACT FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION SUCH AS CEILING HEIGHTS, TYPES, SOFFITS AND
OR
OTHER DEVICE LOCATIONS.

c.
THE CORROSION RESISTANT COATINGS HAVE PASSED THE STANDARD CORROSION TEST
REQUIRED BY THE LISTED APPROVING AGENCIES. THESE TESTS CANNOT AND DO NOT
REPRESENT ALL POSSIBLE CORROSIVE ENVIRONMENTS. PRIOR TO INSTALLING, VERIFY
THROUGH THE END USER, THAT THE COATINGS ARE COMPATIBLE OR SUITABLE FOR THE
PROPOSED ENVIRONMENT. THE COATINGS INDICATED ARE APPLIED TO THE EXPOSED
EXTERIOR SURFACES ONLY AND THEREFORE CANNOT BE USED AS OPEN SPRINKLERS.
NOTE THAT THE SPRING IS EXPOSED ON THE TEFLON AND POLYESTER SPRINKLER.
d.
TEMPERATURE RATING IS STAMPED ON DEFLECTOR.
e.
SPRINKLERS OF ULTRA HIGH TEMPERATURE RATING ARE INTENDED FOR USE INSIDE
OVENS, DRYERS OR SIMILAR ENCLOSURES WITH NORMAL OPERATING TEMPERATURES
ABOVE 300°F (149°C). ANY TIME THE AMBIENT TEMPERATURE AROUND THE ULTRA HIGH
TEMPERATURE RATED SPRINKLER IS SIGNIFICANTLY REDUCED BELOW 300°F (149°C),
RESPONSE TIME OF THE ULTRA HIGH TEMPERATURE RATED SPRINKLER MAY BE
RETARDED.

33. THE FIRE PROTECTION DESIGN IS BASED ON MANUFACTURERS AND MODEL NUMBERS LISTED HEREIN. THE FIRE PROTECTION
CONTRACTOR MAY AT HIS/HER DISCRETION CHOOSE ANOTHER OF THE APPROVED EQUALS LISTED IN THE APPROPRIATE SPECIFICATIONS
SECTIONS AND CONTRACT DOCUMENTS. HOWEVER, BY DOING SO, THE FIRE PROTECTION CONTRACTOR ALSO UNDERTAKES THE
RESPONSIBILITY OF COORDINATION WITH EXISTING CONDITIONS, NOTIFICATION OF OTHER TRADES AND ADDITIONAL COST INCURRED BY
OTHER TRADES REQUIRED AS A RESULT OF THE SUBSTITUTION.
