PILOT CIRCUIT MONITOR RELAY KD73, KD73X
Relay KD73 and KD73X is determined for watching electric cables in networks with an insulated ground
connection including the continual guarding of integrity of a loop fitted with an end-link - a diode. In sense of EN
60079-11 relay KD73 is intrinsically safe. Relays KD73, KD73X are determined for montage into flameproof
enclosures. It represents a standard slide-in unit in a case made of plastic. It consists of shouldered printed
wiring embedded in the casing socket and it is connected with a 12-pole plug. Screw M4, serving to fix the relay
to the base panel board with a socket, goes through the case. In the socket there are two coding studs barring
other types of relays from appearing in the given position. The control circuit operates on the principal
of alternating signal half-way rectifier. By half-way rectification of alternating signal via the end link or an end
diode we achieve the state in which current flows in one half wave and voltage increases in the other. This state
is electronically evaluated and the control relay is closed in case the state of watched loop is convenient. In case
the watching loop is interrupted or there is short-circuit on the watching loop, the evaluating circuit detects the
error and the control relay is broken.
Connection description
Conductors of guarded circuit are connected onto contacts a5 and b6. The supply voltage is conducted to
contacts a4, b3. The switching contact is led onto a1 and b1, and the breaking contact onto a2 and b2.
