Expanded silicone rubber on removable plastic core.
3M™ Cold Shrink technology utilizes an expanded silicone
rubber material on removable plastic core. The core is removed
by simply unwiding.
Compact Design. Because of superior material used in 3M™
Cold Shrink™ terminations, tails lengths may be reduced and
less space is required.
Accomodates a wide range of sizes. Because the expanded
silicone material technology, one kit fits a wide range of cable
sizes, resulting in reduced inventory.
Superior silicone material. Silicone has unique properties
as an insulator. Its smooth surface ensures that the minimum
amount of contamination adheres to the surface. It is also
inorganic and hydrophobic, (water beads form and run off).

Simplified Installation. 3M TM Cold Shrink TM technology utilises a one piece
splice body for splicing cable from 6,6-36kv. Taping of phases in terminations
has been eliminated by the use of a one piece 3M TM Cold Shrink silicone
rubber tube which includes stress control, 3M Quick Term II technology.
Forget Heat, flames or shoving. 3M TM Cold Shrink technology is based on
a removable plastic core. There is no need for gas cylinders or torches – simply

The one-piece design of this cable termination, manufactured with a specially
formulated silicone material, reduces the likelihood of tracking, is UV stable and
adverse to water (hydrophobic). The cold shrink medium voltage terminations are
available for indoor and outdoor applications for single core and 3-core cables up
to 46kV.

Cold Shrink Joint System
The 3M Barrier Boot System 92EE717-1 consists of a one piece EPDM rubber body
suitable for operating wet indoors under conditions of ambient temperature and
loading. The barrier boot is designed to accommodate bushings of cast resin or
porcelain type with diameters between 40.0-70.0mm and is intended for Coldshrink
terminations of power cables up to 15kV with extruded insulation from 50 up to
300mm2. Voltage rating maximum 8.7/15(17.5)kV. Suitable for both straight and
right angled applications.
Improve reliability, reduce time, labour, and overall cost with our wide
range of one-piece joint bodies. Fits cable sizes from 50mm2 up to
1000mm2 (11kV up to 36kV).

3M™ Cold Shrink MV Joints
The QS 2000 E splice body is a prefabricated elastomeric cold
shrink 3-layer construction silicone product. The inner refractive
stress control layer and the silicone insulation layer are co-extruded
during the manufacturing process and the conductive outer screen is
painted and vulcanized to provide proper shielding of electromagnetic
field. The splice body is designed to accommodate all industrial
available cable conductor connecting methods like hexagonal or
deep indent crimping technologies or big variety of mechanical shareoff connecting technologies. The electrical filed around the cable
conductor connection needs to be smoothened by using conductive
tape to avoid any significant increase of electrical stress in the cable
connector area.
For different applications 3M offers many alternative cable screen
connection systems and/or re-jacketing systems to meet customer
requirement with possible best solutions.

to 72.5kV Umax Voltage class, Single core polymeric power cable
systems with copper wire screen according to IEC 60840 04/2004
The same 3M cold shrink technology that the utility industry has
relied on for years has been expanded to 69/72 kV.
3M™ Cold Shrink Termination 69/72,5kV
The versatile design of the prefabricated one-piece cold shrink splice
body allows installation on a wide range of cables sizes and types
and a fast and easy installation at temperatures ranging from-20 C
to +50 C.
3M Kit QT-III, 7672-S-8 Series, is designed to terminate power cable
up to 69/72,5kV. It covers a conductor size of 250 to 2000 kcmil,
125-1000 mm(2). Unlike traditional kits, 3M cold shrink technology
allows the installer to use same installation techniques as used for
medium-voltage cold shrink accessories. For standard and reducedwall cable. • No heat, flame, or special tools are needed during splice body
installation.
Features
• Once installed, cold shrink tube creates a dynamic, compressive
environmental seal and electrical interface without sealants or
adhesives.
• Resists ultra-violet radiation, ozone and industry-approved cable
cleaners.
• Compact design for installation in restricted space,

A complete kit with all the components required to abandon cables either temporarily or permanently. Provides environmental seal and mechanical
protection, eliminates the requirements for heat during installation using 3M Cold Shrink technology.
3M Cold Shrink End Caps environmentally seal and mechanically protect exposed
cable ends using no tools, mastics or tapes. They are close-ended, tubular rubber
sleeves that are factory expanded and loaded onto a removable core. When
positioned over the end of a cable, or other cylindrical object, the core is removed
to provide a reliable seal that protects your cable ends from environmental damage.
(I.e. moisture, contamination, corrosion, ozone, ultra-violet and radiation)..

Thin Wall Insulation Polyolefin
3M™ HDT - A - Adhesive Lined Heavy Duty Polyolefin
HDT-A is thick wall polyolefin tubing. The toughness and weather ability of the tubing make
it well suited for exposed applications. HDT-A is supplied with a specially designed hot melt
adhesive layer. The adhesive is applied during extrusion of the tubing thus achieving a very
smooth, constant adhesive layer, which ensures excellent sealing properties. Shrink ratio: Up
to 4 : 1
GTI 3000 is flexible, thin walled heat shrink tubing, made of cross-linked, halogen free
polyolefin. The tubing meets the latest requirements regarding shrinking time, flexibility, and
material characteristics.
GTI 3000 is designed to provide excellent insulation and protection in various industrial
applications. The large diameter range, and 3:1 shrink ratio offers many solutions within a
small range of products. GTI 3000 is available in a wide range of colours, with a shiny, smooth,
particle free surface. Suitable for cable marking and identification applications. Continuous
operating temperature -55°C to 135°C. Supplied in 1 metre pieces.
HDT-A meets the longitudi nal sealing requirements of VDE 0278 part 3 and is, therefore, ideal
for sealing underground or exposed inline joints and terminations.

91-AH (A) Series for Crimp Connectors
3M™ MDT - A - Adhesive Lined Medium Duty Polyolefin
Application
91-AH (A) Series has been developed to offer an easy method for jointing low voltage polymeric
insulated cables thus ensuring a moisture sealed connection. The kit consists of the appropriate
inner tubes, other tubes and a user-friendly installation drawing. Kits suitable for shielded and
armoured cables also include constant force springs and a copper sleeve for armour continuity.
Kits are designed for a wide range of cable cross-sections optimizing stock holding. The
91-AH(A) Series can be used with all common crimp connectors and also for splicing with
phase crossing.
A non-adhesive version is available (MDT), please contact customer service for details
The adhesive lining makes it especially suitable for underground cable joint applications. For
Offshore and Naval applications, a modified MDT-A approved by Det Norske Veritas is available
(MDT-A-F471).
Technical Features
The 91-AH(A) Kits are made from cross linked polyolefin tubing, which is internally coated
with hot melt adhesive. As the adhesive melts and the sleeve shrinks, a perfect waterlight seal
is formed. Each kit contains all the necessary tubings and an appropriate instruction sheet
outlining the different steps of jointing installation. The outer sleeve is manufactured from heavy
duty, thick wall, flame retardant tubing.
MDT-A is specially designed medium wall tubing, which provides tough and flexible insulation
and is ideal for the protection of cable joints and terminations. MDT-A is lined with a specially
designed adhesive, which is applied during the tubing’s extrusion process. This achieves a
very smooth adhesive layer, which ensures excellent sealing properties. MDT-A meets the
requirements of VDE 0278 part 3.

3M™ Heat Shrink
3M™ Heavy Duty Wraparound HDCW
The HDCW Wraparound Heat Shrink Cable Repair Sleeve is designed to repair damaged cable
sheaths. It is also suitable for use with cable joints and as additional corrosion protection on
undamaged cables.
HDCW is made from modified cross-linked polyolefin with a hot-melt adhesive coated to the
inner side of the sleeve. Upon heating, the sleeve shrinks and the adhesive melts, thereby
achieving a safe and watertight bond between the sleeve and the cable. A corrosion proof metal
clip is used to fully close the sleeve.

Scotch® 1617 Zinc Spray (400ml)
Scotch® 1617 is an ideal cold galvanizer, that provides permanent protection against rust and corrosion by
electrochemically bonding with the metal surface it is sprayed onto. Scotch® 1617 has excellent adhesion to iron
and steel, is resistant to weathering, UV radiation, moisture, heat up to 500oC, alkaline solutions and mineral oils.
It is an ideal primer for metal constructions, and complies with DIN 50976 (zinc content) and DIN 53167 (corrosion
protection).

3MTM Wire Pulling Lubricant Wax can be used and stored in
temperatures as high 194 oF (90 oC), making it the choice for hot
weather applications.
The thick, consistent lubricant does not liquefy or separate with hot
aging; it scoops and applies easily to wire and cable without runs or
drips in hot temperatures; and it will not evaporate too soon after
pulls. The lubricant’s low friction coefficient lessens the chance of
wire damage from high pulling forces, wipes off the cable quickly
and cleanly and leaves fewer residues in the conduit to block future
pulls or prevent removal. Because 3MTM Wire Pulling Lubricant Wax
can be immersed in water for 30 minutes with minimal weight loss,
it is also the choice for wet weather applications.
