Installation Notice
This kit lowers the face and surround panels 1-1/4”. This means
you must install this with a raised fireplace or raise the insert 11/4” above the hearth. To do this you may extend the leveling
bolts or place bricks or other non-combustible under the insert.

Installation with Steel (sheet metal) Surround Panels
Remove and discard the top
convection deflector.
Replace the screws.
Install the panels as detailed in the panel installation instructions. The side panels will attach to the Bedford
side brackets. The top panel will install normally and the return on the top panel will deflect the convection air
through the Bedford face.
NOTE: The Bedford side brackets lower the face and surround panels 1-1/4”. Make sure to choose the
correct size of panels for your installation.
NOTE: We do not recommend using a lower panel when using this kit. Because the face and panels extend
1-1/4” below the unit, you will probably not need the lower panel. However, if you do use a lower panel, you
will need to notch the sides of the lower panel 1-1/4” to line up with the side panels.
