COMPAX Module BM
COMPAX solutions of connection modules can be
implemented at all levels of the Telecom network in
Central Office, active cabinet (FTTC) or into the riser of
a building.
Wiring is reliable, efficient and certified Cat 5E on
version S1TE/S2TE to answer also to LAN or
Datacenter high performance applications.
 Description
COMPAX module consists in a colored body with IDC
contacts (8 or 10 pairs, with or without cutting) and a
light grey base with cabling comb, 2 holding U and 2
clips. Available in 2 sizes : Low BM without wire guides
and High EZ with 1 or 2 wire guides.
These modules exist in 3 versions :
S without shield & earthing pin
S1T/S2T with 1 or 2 earthing pins (no shield)
S1TE/S2TE with 1 or 2 earthing pins & shield
Earthing pin allows connection of drain(s) of cable (Ø
of wire 0,4 to 0,6mm) and use of OV protection
cartridge.
Shield is necessary to increase COMPAX module’s
performance to Cat 5E. Shield is also necessary for
use of individual OV protection.
Body with IDC contacts can be with or without cutting
with capacity 8 or 10 pairs, many colors are available
to see easily the different applications or needs.

Test cord
Connection in front side inside cut hole. The 1 pair / 4 points
connector with cutting allows a for maintenance.
Cord available with or without banana plugs.
Patchcords
Connection on front side (without cutting), COMPAX patching
connector is available with 1, 2 or 4 pairs.
The patchcord (length on demand) is made with a COMPAX
patching connector in one end and the same in the other
ends or a standard connector (jack RJ, DSUB, banana plugs,
…), or another Nexans Interface connectors (RC8W, RHD,
…), or without cabling (pigtail).
Label holder
Transparent label holder mounted by clipping on U frame or
aluminium rails. Available in heigths 8 or 16 mm with white label.
Horizontal cover
Transparent cover to be fixed on front side of COMPAX module or
OV protection cartridge. Possibility to add a sticker on it.
Option with transparent profile and removable white label.
½ covers
½ transparent covers to be fixed on front side of COMPAX module
and delivered with 2 removable white labels.
Lateral label holder
Transparent lateral label holder to be fixed on each side of
COMPAX module over the jumpers and delivered with removable
white label.
Plug 1 pair
Plug 1 pair for COMPAX module available in colors : blue, red,
orange or black.
OV protection cartridge
Protection cartridge against Over Voltage compatible with COMPAX
module S1T/S2T and S1TE/S2TE equipped with tripolar arresters.
An insertion/extraction tool is necessary for maintenance.
Individual OV protection
Individual protection against Over Voltage compatible with
COMPAX module S1TE/S2TE equipped with tripolar arresters
and/or electrical components like varistor, PTC, trisil diode,…
