C.E.R manufactures a complete line of underfloor raceways and fittings to provide a complete installation and to suit any application, including all necessary adapters for conduit feeding or for access from our trenchduct or headerduct systems.
C.E.R. underfloor duct is CSA approved under spec C22-2 No 80 to both Canadian & U.S. standards.
Underfloor duct can be ordered in combinations of duct sizes and runs of up to four ducts and in size combinations to provide for adequate capacity in a wide variety of installations.
C.E.R. underfloor duct is manufactured from code gauge galvanized steel to provide maximum corrosion protection.
Numbers 3 & 6 ducts are commonly used either singularly or in combinations in commercial applications such as grocery stores or in other retail outlets and offices where overhead or surface raceways may not be practical or feasible.
Number 8 duct provides a heavy duty power distribution system, which is used in industrial and commercial applications such as manufacturing plants, warehouses and warehouse type retail outlets, all of which may place heavy demands on an electrical system.
Ducts are supplied either blank ( no preset inserts ) for use with after set inserts or with preset inserts with various heights ( up to 3” ) available to suit the concrete pour.
Duct inserts are 2” pipe sized zinc die castings radiused internally for safe wire pulling. 7/8” high preset inserts are considered standard for most applications requiring a 1” topping over the underfloor duct which is considered the minimum covering for the underfloor duct system.
Higher insert heights are available in 1/2” increments up to 2-7/8” ( 3” topping).
Standard spacing for preset inserts is 24”OC. 12” OC insert spacing is also available.
For all other underfloor duct applications such as Flushduct, Headerduct or Trenchduct please refer to the appropriate catalog or contact the factory for assistance.

Junction boxes are placed at duct intersections to provide:
1. Access to the underfloor duct system in order to pull wires or make splices.
2. A method to separate duct runs as they cross each other at the intersection.
3. A means of connecting the duct system to conduit.
Construction:
Junction boxes are available configured with up to four openings on all four sides in combinations to provide for a wide variety of duct applications.
Multiple compartment junction boxes have interior partitions which separate the duct runs in the box and provide a continuous path through the box to the exiting duct runs.
Corner conduit feeds are also available upon request.
Standard boxes are fabricated from galvanized steel with a round 1/4” thick mild steel plate (6” cover plate is die cast). Junction boxes have adjustable cover plate assemblies which allow for 1/2” vertical adjustment upwards permitting accurate leveling to the finished floor.
Standard boxes are supplied with a 1” high adjusting ring to match the 7/8” high preset.
Boxes for use with higher presets require a junction box with a higher adjusting ring to suit the preset height.
Junction boxes are available for Quarry tile applications. Theses boxes are supplied with an aluminum ring and pan 3/4 “ deep to accept the tile. Boxes to be used with quarry tile must be specified as such as this assembly can not be added later.
A series of stainless steel pans and rings are available to accept a wide range of floor finishes.
Heavy duty junction boxes are available for applications when heavy loads will be placed or rolled over the duct systems. These boxes are constructed with 3/8” thick coverplates and the boxes are provided with adjustable support studs as required for the application. Please contact factory for further details.

To specify higher than standard adjusting ring height to match insert heights greater than 1” add one of the following suffixes to the junction box number:
1.5 for 1-1/2” high preset inserts
2 for 2” high preset insert
2.5 for 2-1/2” high preset insert
3 for 3” high preset insert
Quarry tile applications – add QT as a suffix to the junction box part number.
S336 Saddle Support for two #3 and single #6 underfloor duct
Duct supports are supplied to hold ducts in place before and during the concrete pour. Supports are manufactured from galvanized steel for maximum corrosion resistance and are available in configurations to match all combinations of duct runs as specified in the junction box listings. A chart above can be used to determine the correct part numbers.
A variety of leg heights are available to provide for pours of up to 8-3/4”. Each support is also adjustable by means of a leveling screw on each leg to provide adjustment within a range of 1-1/2”. A chart below specifies suffix number for each leg height.
All numbers specified are based on a preset insert height of 1”. For supports used with preset heights of greater than 1” subtract the height in excess of 1” from the topping depth shown on the chart that follows:

Please note that chart is based upon standard 1” concrete topping over the duct. If the concrete topping is greater than
1” subtract additional amount of topping from floor depth figures.

A variety of stainless pans and rings are available which fit the round junction box cover plate to accept a wide variety of floor coverings. The “pan” style accessories are available in single lip used for tile and carpet and double lip used for carpet (provides protection against fraying on both cut edges. 1/8” deep pans normally supplied for tile 1/4” deep and normally supplied for carpet.
Also available is a carpet ring which installs over the cut joint in the carpet and stands up better against loads which can deform the “lip” of conventional carpet pans.
Single lip carpet/tile pans – available 1/8” or 1/4” deep
Double lip carpet pans – available 1/4” deep
300 After set inserts 2” IPS 1” high two piece assemblies to provide an outlet in blank duct, can be installed after pour (3” hole required in concrete 2-1/2” hole in duct) or installed pre-pour when only a few outlets are required and location is known prior to pour (if ordering for pre-pour installation order #304 mud cap as well). Extensions are available 1/2” (#270) or 1” high (#272) as required.
304 Mudcap fits all 2” IPS preset/afterset inserts. Recessed to hold 3/8” concrete.
270 Duct Extension 2” IPS 1/2” high.
