In modern module technology the power-generating cell
matrix is contained between two extremely thin panes of solar
glass. thus affording optimum protection for solar cells.
What's more, the specially developed solar glass ensures
that incoming light is put to optimum use thanks to its prism
effect.
As a pioneer in the sector, SOLARWATT has been producing glass-glass solar modules for 15 years now. Due to their
relatively heavy weight, these modules were mainly used in
building integration systems and on facades.
SOLARWATT is also setting benchmarks in connection
technology.
The peripheral positioning of the connection lines cuts down
on cable length, reduces circuit resistance and increases the
efficiency in the system.
In addition, asymmetrical cable lengths ensure uncomplicated

The new generation of SOLARWATT solutions also sets itself
apart with its superlative strength.
In addition to tests as per technical standard requirements,
SOLARWATT solar modules are also analyzed with regard to an
oblique load under realistic conditions. Greater compressive
load is applied to the lower module edge to simulate sliding
snow, for example.
The unique module array is also optimally protected from
weather effects, such as hail, by a sturdy surrounding frame.
Safe
The images show a live electroluminescent (EL) analysis. In
the process, a situation in which a person kneels on the solar
module was simulated. The EL analysis would immediately
discover even the slightest damage to the cells which may not
be recognizable to the naked eye.
CAUTION: Load simulation. Normally the conditions of the SOLARWATT installation instructions apply.
The latest generation of SOLARWATT solutions is distinguished
in this respect by extreme durability against loads and rough
installation conditions – a guarantee for lasting quality and
reliability.
Protection against fire
SOLARWATT systems deliver optimum fire safety. With no heatsensitive material on the rear, the innovative module design
ensures that there is no risk of fire if the modules should heat
up.
Thanks to the innovative module design, the high-quality solar cells used are also optimally protected against cell breakage and thus also against hotspots, for example.
Legal protection
Many manufacturers do not hesitate to specify maximum
loads, even though their product characteristics are not suitable to withstand such loads. They then exclude warranty
items in the 'small print' (see figure)
SOLARWATT warranty conditions do not contain any exclusions or loopholes which would allow us to reject any warranty
claims in the event of damage or loss.
Surge protection
The position of connection cables ensures the module and
string circuit is installed with few conductor loops, thus significantly reducing the danger of high frequency spikes caused
by phenomena such as lightning strikes.
Insurance
The SOLARWATT comprehensive protection applies for all components of SOLARWATT systems. It is free of charge for 5 years,
insuring nearly all risks and even applies when the systems
do not produce or provide smaller yields than expected in the
event of damage.

SOLARWATT is the first supplier to have its modules tested to
Severity Level 6, the highest standard, where solar modules
in a system are subjected to extreme conditions over 1,280
hours.
SOLARWATT uses front glass with a very
high transmission factor (90-96 %) only, which thus produce
minimum reflection.
The textured surface of the front glass also reflects light diffusely. This effect merely causes the module surface to appear
lighter in color.

Tests under lifelike conditions
SOLARWATT has developed accelerated aging tests to study
modules and components with regard to mechanical stability
and functions when they are exposed to ammonia.
Unlike other ammonia tests, the SOLARWATT test replicates
the accumulation and subsequent drying of condensation on
modules that occur at different times of the day. The ammonia
concentration is greatly increased to re-create exposure over
a much longer space of time.
No damage
SOLARWATT solutions show no signs of damage or diminished
performance after the test.
Practicable solutions
SOLARWATT solutions have also demonstrated their resistance
to hail storms when put to practical use.
SOLARWATT systems display the same robust characteristics
under real conditions in regions with extreme hail storms
such as Bavaria and Austria as they do during testing in the
laboratory.
SOLARWATT has also had test fields on Germany's highest
mountain, the Zugspitze, in deserts and in tropical regions
to investigate resistance to extreme climatic conditions in
greater detail.
