Check Point is introducing the new Enterprise Based Protection (EBP) program that offers full threat prevention coverage to all a customer’s security gateways. Q: What is a Check Point security Point ? A: The EBP program price per customer is calculated per the asset value of the customer’s Check Point User Center account at the time of customer’s enrollment to the program. This calculation is done with the introduction of Check Point security point model. The points represent a weighted sizing for each Check Point security gateway. Each gateway is assigned with an amount of points relative to the current blade value per gateway. For example the 61000 appliance carries 1273 points whereas the 4800 appliance represents 180 points. Assigning in a user center account to each security gateway its weighed point value and summing up on points, provides a weighed amount of points to the entire account. Q: What is the cost of the EBP program ? A: The EBP price is then calculated according to a price per point that is multiplied by the amount of points in the specific account. The current price is $28 per point for NGTP coverage for one year and $35 per point for NGTP and Threat Emulation cloud service for one year Q: How are Check Point security points calculated for my customer’s account ? A: The EBP price is calculated according to a price per point that is multiplied by the amount of points in the specific account. For example, account with : 2 x 21400 - point size of 21400 is 355 6 x 4800 - point size of each 4800 is 180 2 x 21400 : 2 x 355 = 710 points ©2014 Check Point Software Technologies Ltd.
