This combination debug tools written in accordance of measurements makes with version 2.0 of the High Definition QPHY-HDMI2 a cost-effective, Multimedia Interface (HDMI) compelling HDMI solution. electrical test specification. HDMI Once a problem is detected, all test modes cover amplitude, timing, and jitter parameters. In addition to standard eye pattern and jitter tests for HDMI 2.0, the SDA real-time of Teledyne LeCroy’s powerful serial data analysis tools are at your disposal to help find the root cause. tools offer unmatched insight for diagnosing and solving elusive problems • Support for all clock rates described in Version 2.0 of the specification • Connection diagrams help to make sure that you get the right setup on the first try • QualiPHY report generation creates comprehensive reports with all pertinent test information QPHY-HDMI2 provides a highly automated and easy-to-use solution for HDMI transmitter testing in accordance with Version 2.0 of the HDMI Compliance Test Specification. QPHY-HDMI2 Makes Compliance Testing Easy Often, compliance testing is a very difficult task. The user must make the necessary connections between the oscilloscope and the device under test, manually configure the oscilloscope for the appropriate measurement, perform the test procedure as specified by the test specification, record the results, and finally compare the results to the appropriate limit in the compliance specification. QPHY-HDMI2 does many of these steps for you automatically. Comprehensive test automation – QPHY-HDMI2 configures the oscilloscope to perform tests in an optimum fashion. Here, rise and fall times are quickly and automatically measured on a very large number of edges to ensure compliance. Optional RF Switch Matrix Support HDMI 2.0 compliance testing requires testing of four differential signals in both single-ended and differential configurations. By its nature, this kind of testing means moving and reconnecting cables between the device under test and the oscilloscope. QPHY-HDMI2 supports this type of “manual” operation, and walks the user through it in the most efficient way possible. But for those who wish to further shorten test times, increase automation, and remove complexity, QPHY-HDMI2 also includes the ability to automatically change connection configurations using an RF switch matrix. Simplify testing – QPHY-HDMI2 can control a switch matrix, enabling fully-automated testing with no switching of cables. Fixture and Switch De-embedding As HDMI signal rates increase to 6 Gb/s, the effects of test interconnects on the signals under test become more critical. In some cases, there is the possibility that an otherwise passing device may fail due to these effects. QPHY-HDMI2 includes the ability to de-embed fixtures and RF switches using Teledyne LeCroy’s Eye Doctor II advanced signal integrity toolkit, enabling testing of the DUT’s true performance margins. Simple de-embedding – The ability to de-embed fixtures and cables ensures that the best margins possible can be maintained on tests such as eye diagrams. 2 Supported Tests from the HDMI Version 2.0 Compliance Test Specification • HF1-1 Source TMDS Electrical – VL and Vswing • HF1-2 Source TMDS Electrical – TRISE, TFALL • HF1-3 Source TMDS Electrical – Inter-pair Skew • HF1-4 Source TMDS Electrical – Intra-Pair Skew • HF1-5 Source TMDS Electrical – Differential Voltage • HF1-6 Source TMDS Electrical – Clock Duty Cycle and Clock Rate • HF1-7 Source TMDS Electrical – Clock Jitter • HF1-8 Source TMDS Electrical – Data Eye Diagram Compliance Reports contain all of the tested values, the specific test limits, and screen captures. Compliance Reports can be created as HTML, PDF, or XML files. Eye Test Connection Diagrams prompt the user to make the necessary connections. QualiPHY QualiPHY is designed to reduce the time, effort and specialized knowledge needed to perform compliance testing on high-speed serial buses. • Guides the user through each test setup • Performs each measurement in accordance with the relevant test procedure • Compares each measured value with the applicable specification limits • Fully documents all results • QualiPHY helps the user perform testing the right way—every time! QualiPHY has many preset compliance configurations but also enables users to create their own configuration and limit sets. 3 ORDERING INFORMATION Product Description Product Code QualiPHY Enabled HDMI 2.0 test option *QPHY-HDMI2 Upgrade from QPHY-HDMI RK-QPHY-HDMI-QPHY-HDMI2 HDMI Pull-up Terminator — for use with the TF-HDMI-3.3V WilderTech HDMI2-TPA-P test fixture HDMI Pull-up Terminator Quad Pack TF-HDMI-3.3V-QUADPAK — for use with the WilderTech HDMI2-TPA-P test fixture * TF-HDMI-3.3V-QUADPAK required. TF-HDMI-3.3V System Requirements The TF-HDMI-3.3V adapter provides the necessary 3.3 V pull-up termination for HDMI testing. The TF-HDMI-3.3V provides both a signal path through to the oscilloscope with a 3.3 V pull-up termination as well as an input that is directly terminated to 3.3 V. This is required for terminating the data lines that are not currently under test. The TF-HDMI-3.3V-QUADPAK provides four adapters and eight SMA-SMA cables to allow for the testing of all HDMI signals (Clock, D0, D1 and D2).
