Shanahan’s Manufacturing Ltd. DIGI-BOLT LOCKERS present a new and improved method of providing a
built-in locking device feature. The solid steel lock box protects the electronics and makes it a reliable,
durable lock in any type of application. The deadbolt has an extended throw to provide maximum
security, reducing vandalism and theft. No moving parts allows for quiet operation and the attractive
appearance and user friendly programming make this locker ideal for use in schools, golf courses and
athletic clubs both public and private.

GENERAL
SML ATHLETIC
The following specifications apply to all Shanahan’s lockers, except
Coin Lockers.
Shanahan’s offers three styles of Athletic lockers, designed to meet the
needs of all levels of athletics: the APEX, SUMMIT, and PINNACLE.
Material – All sheet metal to be cold-rolled and stretcher-leveled
conforming to ASTM A653.
Frame – Door frame to be not less than 16 gauge formed steel channel
welded to form a one-piece construction with an integral continuous door
stop on both hasp and hinge sides. A 10 gauge hasp, formed to accept
padlock, is to be welded to the frame.
Hinges – The frame is to be equipped with 2 1/2”, 14 gauge, 5-knuckle
hinges featuring a non-removable pin. The hinges shall be welded to the
frame. Three hinges are required on single tier doors; all multi-tiered
lockers require two hinges per door.
Handlebox and Pull – The door is to be equipped with a chrome-plated
steel handlebox inset flush with locker face. A pry-proof number plate is
to be provided within the fingerpull. The handlebox is to be fastened to
door with tamperproof fasteners.
Number Plates – Number plates to be black polypropylene with silver
embossed numbers and/or letters.
Silencers – Two rubber bumpers per door shall be fastened to the inner
face of the door with tamperproof fasteners.
Coat Hooks – Three coat hooks to be provided per compartment for single
and double tier lockers only. The coat hooks are to be fastened to locker
sides and back with tamperproof fasteners.
Trim – Accessories such as continuous metal base, finished end panels,
filler panels, and slope top are manufactured of 20 gauge cold rolled steel
in a variety of sizes and profiles. Trim is generally finished the same colour
as the locker frame, unless otherwise advised.
Finishing – All steel surfaces shall be thoroughly cleaned and degreased in
an automatic wash process and iron phosphatized for positive paint
adhesion. High solids polyester baking enamel paint to be applied not less
than 1 mm thick. Door, frame and trim colours to be selected from
Shanahan’s standard range.
APEX
Body – Locker bodies to be fabricated from not less than 24 gauge prepainted cold-rolled steel. Locker back and side panels to be attached
together by means of continuous lock forming, running the complete
height of the locker. Locker tops, shelves, and bottoms are to be are
flanged on all sides and fastened to the locker back and side panels with
tamperproof fasteners. Standard colour shall be 202 Surf White.
Doors – Doors shall be flush with locker frame. The outer and inner panel
of the door shall be not less than 20 gauge cold-rolled steel and the inner
panel of the door shall be not less than 24 gauge. (A 16 gauge outer panel
with 20 gauge inner panel is optional.) Sandwich panel construction
welded for rigidity. Door to be attached to hinges with tamperproof
fasteners.
Ventilation – The door shall have 3/4” (19 mm) diameter round holes
spaced at 1 1/8” (29 mm) centres in the outer and inner panels of the
door. As an option, body components are available with 3/8” (9.5 mm)
diameter holes for improved airflow.
Construction – The Apex is available fully assembled, without trim, in
banks of one or two units, or, completely knockdown.
