The Mesa County Republican Women sponsor a Scholarship for a high school senior or
undergraduate Republican woman who is majoring in history, political science, government,
economics or business. The recipient will be chosen from applicants who are either Mesa County
residents or are currently attending Mesa State College. This scholarship is for $1500. This
scholarship is for attendance at Mesa State College in Grand Junction, Colorado.
A complete application must include the following:
• Official application form, sections A- J fully completed
• A letter of recommendation, including telephone number of the author for
follow-up
• Proof of Mesa County residency or current enrollment at Mesa State College
• An official copy of your most recent grade transcripts
• A one-page typed essay on the United States Constitution
• A one paragraph typed essay on career goals
• A personal interview
For further information, please see the attached scholarship application. All applications must
be returned to Phyllis Hunsinger at the above address no later than March 15,2010. The
scholarship winner will be informed by May 15,2010.
Mesa County Republican Women (MCRW)
High School Senior and Mesa State Undergraduate Scholarship Fund Application
The MCRW Scholarship is administered by the MCRW in the following manner:
A. The MCRW Scholarship is administered by the voting members of the MCRW
Executive committee and the scholarship committee.
B. The criterion is established by the Scholarship Committee and is inscribed on
the application.
C. The Chairman is responsible for:
1. Distribution and receipt of applications.
2. Conducting meetings for the application review.
3. Reporting the recommendations to the President for notification by
the President to the Executive Committee.
4. Notification of Recipients.
5. Keeping the names of the applicants confidential.
D. MCRW does not discriminate on the basis of race, religion or national origin in
the awarding of the MCRW Scholarship.
The Criteria for the MCRW Scholarship Applicants are as follows:
1. Must be a 2010 High School graduate or a Mesa State College Student and a
registered Colorado Republican.
2. Must be planning to attend Mesa State College or currently enrolled in MSC.
3. Must be planning to, or currently majoring in history, political science,
government, economics or business.
4. Must demonstrate involvement in the Republican Party and there must be an
indication of continued involvement.
