(1) The Apollo Soyuz Story

In 1975, Late Shri Ramratan Jalani , on his return from USA, after completing his MS in

Engineering, created APOLLO Electronics. Girdhar Ramratan Jalani later joined the business created the second company, SOYUZ Electricals. Customers came to prefer

APOLLO and SOYUZ as most trusted brands for all their needs in LV Transformers and

Reactors.

The two companies merged to create Apollo Soyuz Electricals Private Limited under

Girdhar Ramratan Jalani, the incumbent Chairman and Managing Director.

Girdhar's passionate quest for excellence and irrepressible urge to be the NUMERO

UNO in Magnetics and Electrical Systems businesses drives the company in every endeavor to bring Ultimate Delight to Each Customer.

The company has evolved as a humane employer underscored by the presence of employees loyally serving since over three decades.

Apollo Soyuz Transformers and Reactors are produced at a modern manufacturing facility at Navi Mumbai, India. The company has built an in-house development and design team, a youthful and energetic production workforce and a structured quality and reliability program.

The manufacturing and testing facilities include modern torque controlled winding machines, lamination assembly fixtures, state of the art welding facilities, a cold press foil welding facility, foil winding machines, a VPI plant with chilling systems for special resins, and sophisticated test setups for all loads. Partial Discharge and Impulse Voltage Test facilities are available in house for routine and type testing of special products.

The company is professionally run by highly qualified and experienced managers .

Nikhil Girdhar Jalani , the third generation in the business, has been appointed on the board of directors, being a qualified Electrical Engineer with experience in overseas multinational operations. The company also has on the board, the wealth of experience of five independent directors who are senior and eminent specialists in Engineering,

Finance, and Management.

Apollo Soyuz has a technical collaboration with mdexx Magnetronic Devices GmbH &

Co. KG., in Germany for making Iron Core Reactors, Air Core Reactors and Stray Field

Transformers for use by Indian Railways .

DESIGN AND PROCESSES

(MV Transformers)

Dielectric strength

Our transformer guarantees dielectric strength to withstand impulse voltage thanks to high-technology design which ensures low capacitance between winding and the ground and proper coordination of insulating material

Thermal capability

Heat generated from coils which form electric circuit inside the transformer and heat from iron cores form magnetic circuit and is transmitted to insulation oil(in oil cooled transformer). Heat transmitted to insulation oil radiates to the air through the cooler. Cooling effect is very important as it is directly linked to insulation life and the capacity of the transformer our transformer lay emphasis on improving cooling performance and regulating temperature of the hottest spots by using an effective cooling system

Mechanical strength

Reliability of our transformer is excellent because of winding and tank design which distributes mechanical force evenly in case of short circuit and support short circuit strength effectively.

Core

Core is built with Cold Rolled Grain Oriented Silicon Steel, Low loss silicon steel lamination. Core is layered on step by step to maximize space ratio, which enables the assembling to minimize core loss, exciting current and noise.

Winding

Winding carried out using advanced winding machine in clean and dust free shop floor. Coils are cylindrical in shape and are assembled concentrically.

Paper insulated conductors of high conductivity are used.

Tank

Transformer enclosure is manufactured with sufficient strength to protect internal structures, preserve insulation oil and withstand internal pressure during failure. Tank is equipped with accessories to move and handle transformer with ease. www.apollosoyuz.com

4. MODULAR POWER SUPPLY SYSTEMS

Modular DC Power Systems, DC-DC Convertors and Battery Chargers

Apollo Soyuz Modular Power Supply Systems are Single Power Supply Systems that deliver DC voltages including 24V, 48V, 110V, 220V DC with one common battery bank. This obviates the need for multiple separate power supply systems. Our products are made keeping in mind applications in sectors like Petrochemicals,

Process Industries, Power Generation & Utilities, Telecom, Railways and Offshore

Platforms.

The systems offered by our power electronics division include –

¾ Our modules for Battery charging & supplying load, DC-DC Converter modules for supplying different DC voltages and Load Racks for mounting Power supply modules, connection to Input, Output

& Load Distribution.

The systems offered are modular, flexible, user friendly, expandable and suitable for supplying multiple voltages and also capable of paralleling.

Low starting current, Low ripple (Less than 20mV peak to peak), Better Dynamic

Response (Less than 5ms), Excellent Power Factor are salient distinguishing features of our products. Our systems have fast dynamic correction for step overloads across the range. Our systems are built for hot swapping thereby reducing downtime for the user. Compared to conventional systems we offer over

50% space saving and substantial cost reduction.

¾

Our are designed to convert the voltage from DC power source to the single/multiple output voltages required by load devices with

Galvanic Isolation and Dynamic correction. These DC-DC converters are used in

220 V / 110 V battery-powered systems in order to obtain low voltages 24 V or 48

V. Our converters ensure a highly reliable power supply to low-voltage loads eliminating back-up batteries for 24V or 48V systems. DC/DC converters can be used to supply high-voltage loads 220V or 110V from 24 V or 48 V battery supply.

¾ Our range of Battery Chargers incorporate thyristor controlled rectifiers, using advanced digital control technology with highly flexible interfaces and state of art control features. Touch screens and text displays with fault alarms and indicating meters are offered on our Battery Chargers. At the core of our systems is our robust 6/12 pulse thyristor bridge with a mains isolation transformer. As, the systems have advanced DC Chopper Regulator for all ratings, dropping diodes for online BOOST CHARGING are eliminated. Our chargers are designed for parallel operation. The range extends from 5A to 10kA for 12V-750V DC.
