FUNCTIONAL SPECIFICATION (INTELLISYS)
LCD Display (1)
Displays compressor status, set up
parameters, and gives warning/alarm
messages. When the compressor is
running the display will normally show
package discharge pressure.
automatically provided the controller
detects a demand for air. When
pressed in, the display mode will
cause exit to ‘CHECKING MACHINE’
for 2 seconds, then ‘READY TO
START’.
Display Select (2)
Is used to select alternative status
displays (after approx. 5 minutes the
display defaults to package discharge
pressure). Pressing this button in the
SET POINT ROUTINE will cause exit
to ‘CHECKING MACHINE’ for 2
seconds, then ‘READY TO START’.
Unloaded Stop (7)
When pressed while compressor is
running will unload the compressor (if
not already unloaded) for 10 seconds
and then stop. This is the normal
method for stopping the compressor. If
compressor is already stopped will
execute an LED check (all LED’s
should illuminate) and display
controller software revision.
Up arrow/down arrow (3)
Is used to index through warning and
alarm messages. In the set point
routine these buttons are used to
increment/decrement set point values,
enable/disable some operation
conditions and toggle between
pressure range.
Set (4)
Pressing this button will allow entry
into the set routine. Once in the set
point routine this button will cause the
controller to move onto the next set
point saving the new value if one has
been entered. A warning reset is
obtained by pressing this button (while
the machine is running). An alarm
reset is obtained by pressing this
button twice within 3 seconds (the
alarm condition will remain if the
indicated fault has not been rectified).
Load/unload (5)

compressor immediately and display
‘EMERGENCY STOP’ alarm message.
Unload (18)
Will illuminate when the
compressor is running in
unload mode.
Power (9)
Will illuminate when 8 volt controller
supply is available.
Automatic Restart (19)
Will illuminate when the
machine has shut down due to
low air demand. The
compressor will restart and
load automatically as soon as
pressure falls below the cut in
pressure.
Package discharge Pressure (10)
Will illuminate when display indicates
package discharge pressure.
Airend Discharge Temp. (11)
Will illuminate when display indicates
airend discharge temperature.
Sump Pressure (12)
Will illuminate when display indicates
sump pressure.
Separator Pressure Drop (13)
Will illuminate when display indicates
separator pressure drop.
Total Hours (14)
Will illuminate when display indicates
total compressor running hours.
Alarm (20)
Will flash when a warning
condition exists, the warning
detected will be displayed.
The compressor will continue
to run. A warning can be
reset, by pressing "Set". (4).
Will illuminate solid when an
alarm condition has occurred.
Compressor will shut down

FUNCTIONAL SPECIFICATION (INTELLISYS)
Other LED’s
Will illuminate during the set
point routine to indicate which
function is being adjusted.
DISPLAY MESSAGES
When the compressor is running
normally the display will indicate
package discharge pressure and
illuminate the corresponding LED
(10). Pressing Display Select (2)
will change the display value and
the corresponding LED will
illuminate.
The controller monitors all
aspects of the compressor whilst
running and will display warnings
or in severe conditions stop the
machine and display alarm
conditions.
Warnings
In the event of a warning the
controller will display a message
and the alarm LED (20) will flash.
The warning message will
alternate with the normal display
every 4 seconds, the compressor
will continue to run but the fault
should be rectified as soon as
possible. The arrow keys (3)
should be used to index the
display for any additional warning
messages. A warning message
may be reset by pressing set (4)
once. Note: the warning will
reoccur if the fault has not been
rectified. The following warning
messages may be displayed.
Separator Element
The separator element is
blocked/ruptured and should be
replaced.
Service
Indicates a service due warning
on the display every 3000 hours.
Alarms
In the event of an alarm the
controller will execute a
protection stop. The alarm LED
(20) will illuminate and an alarm
message will be displayed. The
arrow keys (3) should be used to
index the display for any
additional alarm message. An
alarm is reset, by pressing set (4)
twice, within a 3 second period
after the fault has been rectified.
The compressor will only restart
once all alarm conditions have
been rectified. The following
alarm messages may be
displayed.
Starter Fault
Contactor sequence during start
or stop is incorrect.
Airend Discharge Temperature
The airend discharge temperature
is above the high temperature set
point (std. 109ºC or 228ºF).
Motor Overload
The motor overload contacts are
opened. The motor overload
must be reset before the
controller can be reset.
Reverse Rotation
No sump pressure is detected
after the first 2 seconds of
running.
This is an installation fault
indication and should only be
dealt with by a qualified service
engineer. Machine must be
isolated and polarity of mains
connections checked before
resuming.
Low Sump Pressure
When sump pressure is less than
1bar (14.5 psig) the machine will
stop.
Over Pressure
Line pressure is 1 bar (14.5 psig)
greater than rated discharge
pressure.
Pressure Sensor Malfunction
The pressure
transducer/connecting cable has
failed.
Temp Sensor 1
The airend temperature sensor or
connecting cable is faulty.
Failed Calibration
During calibration routine, a 10%
off scale error has been detected,
ensure separator is completely
blown down and repeat
calibration.
Control Power Failure
The 110vAC signal is not present
at the controller (e.g. blown fuse)
Emergency Stop
The emergency stop button is
pressed.
Remote Start Failure
Momentary remote start has not
disengaged before star-delta
transition. This alarm is only
active if remote Start/Stop is
enabled.
Remote Stop Failure
Momentary remote stop switch
has not disengaged when start
signal is received. This alarm is
only active if remote Start/Stop is
enabled.
