The light level can be determined by a passive current sinking device, like a potentiometer. The resistor value will change the current in the 0-10V loop and change the driver current output. It can also be determined by an active voltage source, as long as it is a current sinking output device. The maximum light output will be delivered at 10V (+/- 0.5). The minimum light output will be delivered at 1V (+/- 0.5). If 0-10V wires are shorted by a mechanical switch or by a short in the wiring, the driver will operate at minimum light level. If the connection between 0-10V is open, the driver will operate at maximum light level. DALI wiring diagram DALI functionality schematic Mechanical specification All wiring related to the un-approved 0-10V / DALI control device has to be in accordance with these specifications: Control wiring: Type: Multi or mono. Gauge: 22 AWG or smaller gauge. Temperature: 105C minimum Rated voltage: NA Certification: UL/CSA certified Color: 0-10V: It is recommended that the wires colors respect the driver 0-10V wires colors. The Philips Lumec 0-10V are provided as follows: Positive +: Purple Negative –: Gray DALI: There is not particular recommendation for the DALI wiring. The Philips Lumec DALI wires are provided as follow: DALI 1: Purple DALI 2: Purple with white stripes. Power wiring: Type: Multi or mono. Gauge: 18 AWG or smaller gauge. Temperature: 105C minimum Rated voltage: 600V Certification: UL/CSA certified Color: It is mandatory that the un-approved 0-10V / DALI device wires colors respect the national electrical code and Philips Lumec wiring. Philips Lumec luminaire power supply wires are provided as follows: ! Live wire: Black Neutral wire: White Ground wire: Green Electrical specification All electrical parameters related to the un-approved 0-10V / DALI control device have to be in accordance with these specifications: Control device output: Output has to be electrically isolated from the main input. 0-10V: Max constant voltage: 11 VDC Min constant voltage: 0 VDC Short term max voltage: 14 VDC Max ripple voltage: Not more than 10% of the average dc voltage for low or high frequency ripples. DALI: Max constant voltage: 22.5 VDC Min constant voltage: -6.5 VDC Short term max voltage: 25 VDC Control device input: Surge protection: The device as to be protected against surge event on the main AC line up to 2KV. Minimum diming level: The lifetime and performance of the lamp driven under a certain level by a dimmable driver or ballast cannot be predicted. Please contact Philips Lumec to get more information on the minimum light engine dimming level suitable for your Philips Lumec products. " Electrical specification Dimmable driver output vs 0-10V input: Figure 3 - Philips Lumec dimmable LED driver output # Philips Lumec Certification Since Philips Lumec luminaires are certified only with approved 0-10V / DALI control devices, adding an unapproved component inside the luminaire will void the certification. If unapproved control devices are to be connected to Philips Lumec luminaires, such components must be installed outside of the luminaire, as the integrity of the luminaire must not be altered. Access to the inside of the luminaire shall be limited to qualified electricians and for wiring termination only. Any other modification may void the warranty offered by Philips Lumec and may require a field evaluation by third party certification bodies. Philips Lumec luminaires are certified under the assumption their integrity has not been altered. $ Philips Lumec Warranty Philips Lumec warranty for a dimmable luminaire controlled by un-approved 0-10V / DALI device will be honored only if the following requirements are completed with success in the time frame agreed with Philips Lumec. 1- All un-approved 0-10V / DALI control device specifications requested by Philips Lumec have been provided in a reasonable period of time to Philips Lumec. 2- All equipments requested by Philips Lumec related to the un-approved 0-10V / DALI control device have been provided to Philips Lumec in the time frame agreed between all parties involved. This procedure is mandatory for a control device to be inserted inside any Philips Lumec luminaire and may be requested outside integration. All samples provided to Philips Lumec have to be accurate samples corresponding to the device that will be installed in luminaire. 3- Any other component added after reception of the luminaire by the client has to be installed and operated in accordance with the current version of the National Electric Code and such components must be installed outside of the luminaire, as the integrity of the luminaire must not be altered. 4- Dimming level has to be performed in accordance with lamp specification publish by the lamp manufacturer. Philips Lumec LEDs lamp minimum dimming current is 100mA per LEDs. Please contact Philips Lumec to get more information on the minimum light engine dimming level suitable for your Philips Lumec products. 5- The luminaire has to be set by default at 100% light output (maximum luminaire wattage) if the un-approved 0-10V / DALI control device enter in those situation: a. fails or stops working b. is unplugged c. is removed Philips Lumec luminaires are warranted under the assumption their integrity has not been altered. All Philips Lumec warranty will be void if any of the recommendations specified in this document have been dismissed.
