We work in close partnership with our clients to achieve the most appropriate solution, giving time and cost efficiencies, as well reducing downtime and increasing overall production uptime. ■ Drain Cleaning and CCTV Survey Our Services Chemical Cleaning ■ Pre-commission chemical cleaning expertise includes HRSG Boilers, refinery and gas plant compressor pipework systems. High velocity water flushing is vital between stages and systems may be blown empty under nitrogen for surface preservation. ■ In-service cleaning capabilities include degreasing, acid and passivation stages of power station boilers. The furnace side of boilers may be cleaned using semi-automated high pressure water jetting. Soda ash washing before and after cleaning may be employed to neutralise any acidic deposits on the tube externals. ■ Caustic washing on chemical plant vessels to remove/break down chemical deposits prior to ‘Hurricane’ vessel cleaning with high pressure water non man entry tank cleaning heads. ■ Acid cleaning of refinery cooling water pipework and pump cooling water jackets to remove hard water and iron oxide scale. For refinery plant where there are high sulphur levels leading to potential polythionic acid production, low chloride soda ash with corrosion inhibitor may be circulated or sprayed on for neutralisation. ■ Non-Man Entry Vessel Cleaning ■ Air Conveyance Units ■ Catalyst Handling ■ Cold Cutting ■ Boiler Hire ■ Storage Tank Hire ■ Silenced Steam Blowing ■ Air Blowing Vapour Phase Decontamination Cape Environmental use DT3000 chemistry in combination with steam to ‘vapour phase’ clean oil refinery towers and vessels to remove hydrocarbon gases/oil, oxidise any H2S, pyrophorics and mercaptans. This method of cleaning minimises effluent volumes and equipment required to facilitate fast entry for clients into equipment. Liquid Phase Decontamination Cape Environmental use a variety of chemicals to oil and gas free vessels, towers, pipework and exchangers prior to being opened for inspection. Pyrophoric scale, H2S and mercaptans will be removed/oxidised and vessels can be part filled and ‘steamed’ or circulated via spray heads to minimise filling of equipment to minimise effluent volumes or where design limitations prevent filling. Liquid phase decontamination may be desirable where high flow circulation is required to reduce the level of sludge or solids. Once proven “gas free” the vessel may be opened up and a tank cleaning head inserted to complete sludge/solids removal to our MegaVac Tankers which will handle wet or dry materials. Fin Fan Cleaning Cape Environmental clean the tube side of fin fans using the Freelance semi-automated high pressure water unit. The external (air) side of the finned tubes may be cleaned by pre-treatment using a foam based chemical to ensure a degree of contact time to remove grease, dirt and grime. The chemical is fully biodegradable and compatible with most refinery waste water treatment plants. The residual chemical and loosened debris are then removed by low pressure water flushing using a temporary pump, hose and spray nozzle. Pipeline Pigging Cape Environmental have extensive experience in pigging small and large bore pipework from pipeline drying with soft foam pigs to contamination removal using wire brush or razor back pigs. Some pigs may be dipped in chemical for drying or metal treatment and in some scenarios Gel Pigging may be utilised to clean multiple diameter pipework. Pigs may be launched in specially designed pig launchers using water, air or nitrogen as a propellant with catchers to suit collection of effluent/debris into drums, totes, skips, road tankers or tanks (30, 55, 80 or 120 tonne). Hydrotesting Cape Environmental have undertaken hydrotesting of a variety of HRSG pipework on a number of new power plants in the UK to internationally recognised standards. We supply water storage tanks, circulation/ transfer pumps, dosing chemicals where required, temporary mobile steam boilers, all temporary pipework, valves and fittings as well as all instrumentation including certified pressure gauges, pressure relief valves and chart recorders. Air/Nitrogen Purging/Drying Cape Environmental utilise oil free compressed air to high velocity air/water flush pipework to create high disturbance factors for removal of loosely adhered debris. Dry oil-free air is utilised to dry pipes following hydrotest and nitrogen purging is undertaken when emptying chemicals from a system after a chemical clean or for removal of toxic/flammable gases. Vacuum Drying Cape Environmental utilise this method for drying pipework, vessels and other equipment to designated dewpoint values where normal drying techniques are inappropriate. A vacuum is created with a vacuum pump and residual water is vaporised and displaced by injection of dry air or nitrogen.
