Hydrogen fuel cells are already used in mobile applications like
cars, buses, utility vehicles as well as for backup power supply,
e. g. in the telecom sector. As the technology is emerging fast,
many universities and colleges have adopted fuel cells in their
educational program.
Fuel cells and hydrogen generators are regarded as the missing link
to increase usage of renewable energies. Heliocentris Fuel Cell Laboratories provide the necessary know-how on fuel cells and energy
conversion through hands-on experiences – from the examination
of design and function to the integration and hybridization of fuel
cell systems.
Ready to Teach
All training systems from Heliocentris are tailored to the requirements of universities and colleges. The design and functions of fuel
cell systems and hybrid energy systems combined with batteries
can be examined in detail. The extensive course materials included
comply with the curricula of engineering departments of universities
and colleges. No special previous knowledge is required: Lecturers
benefit from pre-configured lessons and automated experiments
covering general and electrical engineering principles. Included
software enables computer-aided measurements for further editing. For maximum safety all training systems work with 17 bars low
pressure hydrogen storages based on metal hydride.
Equipment for an Entire Course of Students
The single training systems are intended to be used by small groups
of students. In doing so they benefit from the positive effect of learning in groups and will reach the same knowledge level.

Fuel Cell Lab
The extent of a Heliocentris Fuel Cell Lab can be adapted to different
course sizes. As example for 12 Students following training systems are proposed:
6 x Professional Training System (1-2 students sharing)
4 x Instructor Training System (2-3 students sharing)
2 x Nexa® Training System (4-6 students sharing)
2 x Hydrogen Generators HG60 (for refilling of the low pressure hydrogen storages)
For applying the theory and realizing own projects all fuel cell modules used in the
training systems are also available as single package, ready for integration.
