The pressure sets are supplied as single, twin or three-pump
units. The usual arrangement is to have twin-pump sets for main
and stand-by/support operation, the stand-by/support pump can
either be selected by a manual switch on the control panel or can
be made to start automatically should the duty pump fail or
become unable to meet an abnormal demand. If required, threepump sets for fresh and salt water services incorporating a
common stand-by pump can be supplied. The method of changeover from duty to stand-by, is by means of flexibles, making this
operation exceptionally simple and foolproof against incorrect
connection.
Marine Pressure Sets
Megator Marine Pressure Sets are compact self-contained units,
incorporating Megator Sliding Shoe Pumps on anti-vibration
mountings, hydraulic accumulator, interwired control panel and all
interconnecting piping assembled on a fabricated steel frame. Onboard installation only requires piping connections to suction and
discharge manifolds and connection of the main electrical supply
to the control panel.

Equipment
From the standard ratings tables,
select the pressure unit with pump
sized to meet estimated peak
demand. Auto support feature (twin
pump unit) provides double capacity
to meet any exceptional peak
demands that may occur in service.
Working pressures up to 85 psi and
total suction lifts up to 23 ft.

Control Panel
Megator self-priming, sliding-shoe type with cast
iron body, stainless steel rotor, port plate and
mechanical shaft seals. Fitted with sealed bearings
requiring no lubrication.
Single compartment type with hinged cover, enclosure
IP54. Includes triple-pole contactor for each pump with
thermal overload, under voltage and single-phase
protection with hand reset, earth leakage circuit
breaker, hand/off/auto switch for each pump, pump
selector switch, HRC fuses for motor and control
circuits, 110 Volt control circuit transformer and triple
pole isolating switch interlocked with hinged cover
incorporating white “power on” light. Pressure switches
for duty and support pumps mounted on side of panel
which are easily adjusted to give required cut-in and
cut-out pressures up to 85 psi maximum.
Motors
To USCG requirements, class F insulation, class B
temperature rise, TEFC, IP55. Suitable for 380440V/3ph/50-60Hz electrical supply.
Pipework
Copper with bronze valves including non-return
valve on pump discharge, isolating valve and pump
relief valve on discharge manifold, isolating valve on
pump suction. Manifolds terminate in flanged flexible
connections to minimize transmitted vibration.
Pressure gauges with 21/2” dial calibrated 0-140 psi
for system pressure and accumulator pre-charge
pressure are mounted on framework of unit.
Painting
Unit painted based on customer specifications or
standard one coat of primer and one coat of hammer
green finish.
Optional Extras
Ultra violet purification unit.
Hydraulic accumulator
Water-in-bag type with replaceable flexible
membrane in epoxy coated shell with bolted access
cover, relief valve and connection for charging
(supply pressure must not exceed 114 psi).
Calorifier unit.
Bronze pumps.
Pump, motor, control panel and accumulator spares.
Pump running lights.
