A module is a trim and light engine combined – it is certified to work together, so the results you get are on the spec sheet. Lighting performance of a lamp alone can vary greatly depending on the trim it is paired with in the installation Modules have more heat sink material than lamps and are designed for IC rating. Not all LED lamps are designed for IC rating, and installing in an IC fixture could cause premature failure. Those lamps that are IC are likely not to have the same lumen performance as a module because of thermal characteristics. Q. How much light do the L Series LED Downlighting modules deliver? A. T he 4”, 4BLMW LED delivers 400 lumens. The 5”, 5BLMW LED delivers 600 lumens. The 6”, 6BLMW LED delivers 620 lumens. Q. W hat is the input wattage and lumens per watt? A. T he 4”, 4BLMW LED uses 9 watts, yielding an efficacy of 44 lumens per watt. The 5”, 5BLMW LED uses 13 watts, yielding an efficacy of 46 lumens per watt. The 6”, 6BLMW LED uses 13 watts, yielding an efficacy of 48 lumens per watt. Q. W hat is the CRI and Kelvin temperature? A. T he 4”, 4BLMW LED has a CRI of 83 and color temperature of 3000 K. The 5”, 5BLMW LED has a CRI of 83 and color temperature of 3000 K. The 6”, 6BLMW LED has a CRI of 81 and color temperature of 3000 K. Q. W ill other Kelvin temperatures be available? A. T o make the L Series LED downlighting modules fit the most common market needs, 3000 K is offered to provide a mix of warm lighting common in residential applications, while providing the higher efficiency of LED. Q. W hat is the expected life of the L Series LED Downlighting modules? A. T he L Series LED downlight modules were designed to last 35,000 hours in IC and Non-IC applications. If the modules average 6 hours of use per day, this is equivalent to 16 years of life. If the modules average 3 hours of use per day, this is equivalent to 32 years. Q. W hat trim finishes are available? A. M atte white is the only trim finish offered at this time in the L Series LED downlight modules. How do I meet permanent installation requirements for Title 24, LEED, and/or Utility Rebate eligibility? Q. Can I convert a fluorescent downlight to make it compatible with the L Series LED Downlighting modules? A. T he L Series LED downlight modules ship with the hardwire kit included in the carton. Use this to provide a permanent conversion to the LED module. A. Y es, an adapter kit (FL2LED) may be ordered to convert the L7XF to a suitable housing for use with any version of the L Series LED downlight module. For converting fluorescent housings, disconnect socket wires from ballast and pull through whip. Push FL2LED wires back through whip from housing side and make connection to 120v inside fixture junction box. Q. F or a new-construction project, which Lithonia Lighting housings should I use? A. T he L Series LED downlight modules are compatible with our full range of new construction housings – L7X, LC6, L5, L3 and more.
