Building the
Future
A legendary architect.
A work-space ahead of its time.
In 1959, world-renowned architect Eero Saarinen began
designs for a work environment like the world had never
seen. The facility’s unique open plan enabled brilliant
minds to roam, collaborate and converse—fostered by
the seamless interplay between design and nature. Here
at Bell Labs, researchers developed the breakthrough
inventions that would usher in the modern age.
