Getting Started
Mounting & Placement
For best screen visibility, avoid
mounting the high bay gateway
in direct sunlight.
!
100ft max distance to first High Bay
light.
High Bay Gateway should be placed in close
proximity to the controlled High Bay lights to
optimize Daylight Harvesting mode
operation.
!
Power / Dali
Recommended
mounting height:
4.5 – 5.5ft.
Ethernet port
Additional Mounting Considerations
The high bay gateway should not be mounted in wet zones or exposed to extreme
moisture conditions.
For optimal performance the high bay gateway should have direct line of sight (LoS) to
at least one light fixture to be controlled.
For best occupancy detection performance, mount near an entryway to the lighted
area.
Ensure that the mounting bolts are securely fastened to a solid backing.

Powering On the High Bay Gateway for the First Time
The high bay gateway doesn’t have an external power switch; it will automatically turn
on when power is connected.
1. Connect the high bay gateway to an active power source.


Connect Black lead to Line Voltage, White lead to Neutral and Green to ground
Or
Connect Brown lead to Line Voltage, Blue lead to Neutral, and Green to ground
2. Once power has been applied wait for the high bay gateway to load.
3. Once screen appears you can control your high bay gateway via Wi-Fi or Ethernet connection.

Configuring Internet Connection
The network section under “Settings” allows you to control your DHCP or Static IP
configuration and your Wi-Fi Hotspot settings. If you use a static or DHCP address and
connect to your local network, then you can browse to the high bay gateway from any
computer on the network with a web browser. (Google Chrome browser is
recommended.)
Connecting DHCP
1. Verify your high bay gateway is plugged into the Ethernet port (Note: By default your
gateway is set to DHCP configuration.)
2. At the high bay gateway identify the DHCP address on the top right corner.
3. With a computer, connect to your local network.
4. Once connected, go to your web browser and enter the DHCP address of your
gateway.
5. You will then be directed to the login screen for your gateway. ( When logging in for
the first time, the default master pin code is set to: 1234)
Setting a Static IP: (Note: By default your gateway is set to DHCP configuration.)
1. Verify your high bay gateway is plugged into the Ethernet port.
2. Select “Network” from the settings screen.
3. Under the column “Ethernet TCP/IP Connection, choose the “Configure” button.
4. Switch from DHCP to Static by selecting the “Static” button on the right.
5. Click the fields to configure the appropriate IPAddress, Netmask, Gateway, DNS 1,
and DNS 2 for your high bay gateway. (If needed, please consult your IT advisor when
configuring your Static IP for the appropriate information for your organization’s internal
network.)
6. Select the “Save” button when done.
Setting up DHCP:

Accessing the High Bay Management Interface from your Wi-Fi Enabled Device:
1. Scan for available Wi-Fi networks with your Wi-Fi device and connect to the high
bay gateway SSID Wi-Fi network.
 This can be found in the top left corner of the high bay gateway screen.
2. Enter the password shown in the “Network” page.
 To view this password you must connect to your High Bay Gateway IP directly.
See Network Connections on page 7 to learn how. (When connecting for the first
time, the default Wi-Fi password is: highbaywc)
3. Open a web browser on your device.
4. Enter the IP address of the high bay gateway in your device’s web browser.
 By default the IP is 10.10.0.1
5. Once connected to the given IP address, the home screen should display and you
can begin controlling your high bay gateway via Wi-Fi.
Wi-Fi Hotspot Configuration:
1. Select Network from the Settings screen.
2. Under the Wi-Fi Network column select “Configure.”
3. Create a unique Access Point (SSID) name for your gateway’s hotspot. (This will help
distinguish one high bay gateway from another when choosing a high bay gateway from a list of WiFi networks later.)
4. Choose a desired Wi-Fi Channel from the drop down menu.
5. Create a passphrase.
6. Choose the “Save” button when done.

The high bay gateway is equipped with an innovative sensor technology which allows
you to save energy when natural daylight is present. The high bay gateway can also
communicate with individual daylight harvesting sensors that are placed throughout
your facility.
Once the user has selected the desired light level, the high bay gateway will
automatically increase/decrease the lumen output of the lights in order to maintain the
desired light level. (When daylight harvesting mode is activated, scheduled dimmer
events are overridden.)
Using Daylight Harvesting Functionality
Adjust Daylight Harvesting Settings:
1. Select ‘Harvesting Settings’ from the Global Control Menu or Group Control Menu for
a desired group.
2. Set the desired light level threshold by selecting the Right/Left arrow buttons until
your desired light level is displayed on the screen.
3. If there’s more than one daylight harvesting sensor connected to a group, choose
the desired multi sensor mode.
 If you want your lights to automatically adjust to the lowest daylight
harvesting sensor reading within a room then choose LO from the Multi
sensor Mode.
 If you want your lights to automatically adjust to the highest light level sensor
reading within a room than choose HI from the Multi sensor Mode.
 If you want your lights to automatically adjust to the average light output
within a room based on the sensor readings then choose AVG from the Multi
senor Mode.
4. Click the ‘Save Changes’ icon.
