Pullex Plus-Lasur 50314 ff - ADLER

Pullex Plus-Lasur
50314 ff
Solvent-based thin-layer wood glaze finish for DIY and professional use
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION
Universal wood glaze finish free from aromatic compounds
for exterior wood. A novel binding agent combination, a high body
and active UV absorber ensure long-lasting protection against
weathering. A long open time facilitates brush application without
laps. Environmentally friendly due to a higher solid content and
white spirits free of aromatic compounds as solvents; low-odour.
General
Special Properties and
standards

The coating is protected against blue stain and mould by a
biocidal active substance.
Active substance:
0,3 % IPBC (Iodpropinylbutylcarbamat)
Application area

For dimensionally unstable timber components for exterior such
as e.g. wooden houses, canopies, timbering, balconies, fences
in usage categories 2 and 3.

We recommend Pullex Bodenöl 50527 ff for terrace floors and
landing stages.
PROCESSING
Instructions for use
02-15 (supersedes 04-14) ZKL 4415

Please stir the product before use.

Do not apply it at temperatures below + 5°C and / or relative
atmospheric humidity > 80 %.

For new timber components we recommend an all-over coating.

Apply a thin layer on horizontal wooden parts in order to avoid
flaking due to increased film thickness.

Based on the system glaze finishes are hardwearing only to a
limited extent and therefore require more frequent maintenance.

The flow of resin cannot be avoided based on the coating
method.

Water-soluble wood extracts can be leached particularly by
driving rain. This can be minimized by an all-over coating and
additional sealing of the end grains.

Application technique
Application method
Yield per application (m²/l)
Brushing
approx. 8 - 12
Attention: Do not spray the product!
The product is ready-to-brush.
The shape and properties of the substrate and wood moisture affect
the consumption / yield. Accurate values for consumption must be
obtained by applying trial coats in advance.
Drying times
(at 23 °C and 50 % rel. humidity)
Recoatable
after approx. 12 hours
The figures indicated serve as a guide and are for reference. The
drying time depends on the type of wood, coat thickness,
temperature, air exchange and relative atmospheric humidity.
Lower temperatures and / or high level of atmospheric humidity can
increase the drying time considerably.
In case of types of wood rich in extracts (such as, for example,
Oakwood and Iroko), the drying process may take longer.
Cleaning the working
equipment
With ADLER Adlerol Aromatenfrei 80301.
SUBSTRATE
Type of substrate
Softwood and hardwood as well as wooden construction materials
such as, for example, solid wooden boards, laminated boards (BSH)
and solid construction wood (KVH), etc.
Substrate property (or
condition)
The substrate must be dry, clean, capable of holding the paint, free
of grease, wax and wood dust.
Please observe and follow ÖNORM B 2230-1.
See also VOB, Part C, DIN 18363, paragraph 3; Painting and
coating work.
Please observe BFS data sheet no. 18.
The prerequisite for long storage stability of the coating is
compliance with the principles of the constructive wood
preservation.
Wood moisture
Hardwood: 12 % +/- 2 %
Softwood: 15 % +/- 2 %
Preparation of the substrate
For optimal durability we recommend to sand smooth wooden
surfaces with grain size 80 in the direction of the fibre, clean
thoroughly and remove wood extractives such as, for example, resins
and resin pockets. Round off any sharp edges.
Highly resinous wood and exotic timber with drying retardant
components must be cleaned with ADLER Nitroverdünnung 80001.
Treat infestation or attack by algae, moss or mould with ADLER
Fungisan 90783.

COATING SYSTEM
Impregnation
Apply 1 coat of Pullex Imprägnier-Grund Farblos 50209 (applicable
to wood types of durability class according to EN 350-2, 3 – 5) to
protect against blue stain, fungal decay and insect infestation in the
exterior.
Drying time approx. 12 hours.
The protection against ultra-violet rays will be increased and the
appearance of the texture will be enhanced by adding approx. 10 %
Pullex Plus-Lasur 50314 ff in the desired shade to Pullex
Imprägnier-Grund Colourless 50208.
Please observe the relative technical data sheets of the products.
Please observe our „Guidelines on the use of wood preservatives“.
Primer coat
1 x Pullex Plus-Lasur 50314 ff coloured
Intermediate drying time approx. 12 hours
Final coat
1 x Pullex Plus-Lasur 50314 ff coloured
MAINTENANCE & RENOVATION
Maintenance
The durability depends on several factors. These include particularly
the type of weathering, constructive protection, mechanical stress
and the choice of the applied colour shades.
To obtain a long durability preservation work is necessary in time.
Therefore we recommend an annual maintenance.
If required, remove dust and dirt from the still intact surfaces and
apply 1 coat of Pullex Plus-Lasur 50314 ff in the brighter colour
shades by brush.
On deep porous softwood, e.g. Oak, Iroko, the interval for
maintenance may be reduced.
Renovation
Pre-treatment: Brush off weather-beaten, greyed wood, old paint
residues that cannot be recoated, dust and dirt using a brass wire
brush manually or with a machine using a nylon cup brush, and
finally sand the intact and non-absorbent old coats using sanding
paper having a grain size of 80.
Impregnation:
1x Pullex Renovier-Grund 50236 ff using a brush
Primer coat:
1x Pullex Top-Lasur 50550 ff coloured
Final coat:
1x Pullex Top-Lasur 50550 ff coloured
Intermediate drying times approx. 12 hours
Please observe the relative technical data sheets of the products.

Supplementary products
The final colour shade is basically obtained from the inherent
colour of the wood, the quantity applied, the colour shade of the
impregnation and the colour shade of the glaze finish applied
(compare with the colour shade chart).
It is recommended to prepare a trial colour sample on the
original substrate using the coating system selected in order to
assess the final colour shade.
In order to ensure uniformity of the colour shade, use material
having the same batch number on a given surface.
In order to ensure uniformity of the colour shade, standard
colour shades and shades tinted using the colour mixing system
cannot be used on a the same surface.
To ensure a good weather resistance apply 2 coloured coats.
Apply exclusively pigmented colour shades to ensure a good
weather resistance
Moderate colour shades have the best weather resistance; avoid
very light or dark colour shades under extreme climatic
conditions.
When brightening the standard colour shades for the application
of a new coat using Pullex Plus-Lasur Farblos (colourless)
50330, the interval for maintenance may be shorter (reduced UV
protection). Therefore Willow or Oak should be used for
brightening the darker colour shades
Please consume tinted products within 3 months.
